he is less 'talented' this season, and has regressed. and u think he isnt choosing to hoist up bricks n pass out of the post with midget guards on him? are u seriously saying his performances have been up to par and he has no blame or direct responsibility for..... himself? or is that just 'reasonable'.

i dunno wtf the confusion is here, if you think meyers should get a free pass cause we signed him, well shit, i dunno wtf to say. he had such a low bar to live up to and cant even manage that

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I'm saying he's a crappy NBA player and he doesn't get to choose his own talent level. He's "choosing to hoist bricks and pass out of the post against smaller players" because he has no post game and has no NBA-caliber skill except shooting. I mean, I've been one of his harshest critics on this forum in terms of his basketball--I've said numerous times that I don't even think he's an NBA-caliber player.

I just don't see why that makes him an asshole. Lots of players fail because they weren't talented enough.

i drew the arrogant (or ignorant) asshole conclusion from many things.

turning down the contract to bet on himself, he rated himself better than our offer despite being himself
    this shit - http://egpdx.com/built-to-rise/
    his social media interactions
    and quotes like this

“It’s coming, I can feel it,” Leonard said regarding reaching his potential.

“I don’t have time for people who are negative,” Leonard said. “My wife knows that. The number one thing I hate about anything is negativity. That has become something that’s had less and less an effect on me. It is what it is. I just wish everyone would like me, but I know that’s just not going to be the case. I feel that I’ve improved drastically since I’ve gotten here and I’ll continue to improve"

“I feel that I have the ability to affect the game statistically and outside of statistics,” Leonard said. “I really feel that I have a major effect offensively, even if it doesn’t show up in a stat book, because teams’ bigs struggle to guard me at the three-point line"

ah fuck, its basically this whole story - http://www.basketballinsiders.com/meyers-leonard-more-than-basketball/ -

this was a good wrap up on his regression - http://www.blazersedge.com/2017/1/17/14281162/meyers-leonard-offense-regression-trail-blazers

least we can agree he's garbage, i just wish he's stfu about how much improvement he's doing and what he brings to the team being a terrible 7 foot sg.

And so the Meyers Leonard era ends. Not with a bang but with a perfectly-coiffed whimper.

This isn't the first time. He hasn't played the last two games against the Lakers but then played the next game each time. And there were others...

I know he isn't helping his trade value but you almost have to trot him out there ever few games for a couple minutes just so teams don't think he retired.

Watching his baskets as a highlight reel, I'm struck by how little defensive attention he's getting. It's great that he finished two rolls hard with dunks, but he basically rolled down a wide open lane because no one paid him any attention until he was at the hoop. Most of his shots were similarly with no one bothering to even cover him (he did knock down one shot over a defender and another with a defender running at him).

It's great that he had a good scoring night, but the combination of being hot and being ignored by the defense doesn't fundamentally change how we should be evaluating him.

I'd still like to know how a 24 year old forgets how to shoot. Say whatever you want about his game, one thing he always did well was shoot. What the hell happened?

Don't be surprised if some other team chalks it up as a fluke though. I still think he's tradeable. It's just not working out here.

Another thing, instead of working on his game and weight training, he spent all offseason rehabbing. That's probably had an affect. It's why a lot of times players aren't themselves until two years after their injury. Just something other teams would probably consider as well.

I am now at the point of feeling physically bad when Meyers is on the court. But really.

Mods, any chance we can change the title of this thread? I don't care if people want to disrespect Meyers, but the other guy is a different story.

With a non-gimmick title, no one would post to this thread.

Fucking seriously? He actually said that shit?

Wow. Talk about disconnect from reality.

Who knows....maybe it will hit home to him when the Blazers cut him this off-season and he ends up playing in China....before being cut there too.
