A kid got shot yesterday at my school. Here's the article from this morning:
QUOTE

Teen shot near Moreno Valley schoolMORENO VALLEY - A 15-year-old boy was shot and critically wounded Monday not far from Vista Del Lago High School in Moreno Valley, prompting police to cordon off the area as they investigated the attack. The shooting was reported at 3:22 p.m., minutes after the school at Lasselle Street and John F. Kennedy Drive ended classes for the day. Dozens of students were in the area when the boy was shot, and officers reported large crowds milling about when they arrived on the scene. Authorities did not know if the victim attended the school, was a former student or had no connections to Vista Del Lago. A dozen Moreno Valley police cars descended on the shooting scene. Officers then sealed off the area and began to search for clues. A Riverside County sheriff's helicopter circled overhead. Police established a command post at John F. Kennedy and Thyme Place, a block west of the school, and detained several people. But many students on the ninth- through 12th-grade campus seemed unaffected. Students jogged on the campus track. Athletic squads continued working out. A witness, who declined to identify himself because he feared for his safety, said he saw the victim prone on the ground and bleeding from the head. Deputy Javier Rodriguez, a spokesman for the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, said authorities are looking for one attacker who may have fled the area on foot. Rodriguez did not have a detailed description of the gunman or a possible motive for the shooting. He said the victim was shot at least once in the upper body and was in critical condition. While detectives sorted through evidence, family and friends of the injured youngster gathered at the Riverside County Regional Medical Center's emergency room, a few blocks away from where the shooting occurred. The hospital contains a trauma center where seriously injured patients typically are taken for treatment. One woman sobbed as they waited anxiously for word of the victim's condition. A man in the group, who was comforting the woman, declined to comment. Hospital spokeswoman Chaitae Hasty-Rodriguez could not be reached for comment. Rowena Lagrosa, Moreno Valley schools superintendent, said the district had not confirmed if the victim was a student. She said the district planned to send counselors to the campus today to help alleviate students' concerns. Vista Del Lago Principal Gil Oceguera said classes ended at 3:04 p.m. Malford Washington, 57, who has lived about four blocks from the scene for about eight years, said it was a good neighborhood with no drug problems or violence. "This is the first time I ever heard of somebody getting shot or stabbed," Washington said by phone. Resident Merrill Sargent, 52, said she became frightened when she heard helicopters and saw police with dogs search her neighborhood about a half a block from the scene. Sargent said the shooting surprised her because, aside from car accidents near the high school, she considered it a good neighborhood. Monday's shooting follows a string of violence that claimed the lives of minors. A 10-year-old boy was shot and killed at Kitching Street and Iris Avenue in December. In September, a 16-year-old girl was tortured, raped and killed. A 17-year-old was shot and killed while waiting in a car at Perham and Finley drives in July. A 15-year-old girl was shot and killed at a graduation party in the summer. It caused a lot of panic at my school this morning. Newsreporters were all over the streets before school started. They all left around 8 AM. Then they came back right after school and started interviewing "witnesses", but most of the students they interviewed were just random teens wanting to be on television.I didn't know about the shooting until this morning. A lot of parents were at the school, too.Cops were all over the place and a helicopter was flying above the school for most of the day. It was crazy. Also, the cops blocked all exits, except the main gates. They kept an eye on everyone! It took 20 f*ckin' minutes just to get out of school!
That is crazy dude! Did you know the kid?Yesterday about a minute from my house some dude has all these weapons and was holding a girl hostage which was pretty crazy given my area. I wasn't allowed to leave my house and eventually I went with my bro in his car to where it was and there were cops all over the place and a SWAT vehicle. It was pretty crazy.
No, I didn't know the guy. When he got shot, there were a bunch of kids snapping pictures of him with their cellphones. Today, some girl was showing everyone the image of the dude on the floor, bleeding to death. A bunch of people got pissed and started yelling at her. I don't know what the outcome of that was because the hallways got crowded with people either watching the scene or people yelling at the girl for taking pictures of a dying kid. I do know that the campus supervisors came running through the crowd to break up the scene. It was a tense day at school. We weren't allowed to go to lunch until the principal made an announcement about it. We only had a 30 minute lunch. It was 9th grades & 10th graders at the same time first, then 11th graders alone and finally 12th graders alone. My lunch was pretty cool because most of my friends are 11th graders and it seemed like a huge group of people I just knew, so I wasn't looking around for people to chill with. I could walk from table to table or circle to circle.
Illosophee, the first 3 posts of this thread were by you and they were all within 3 minutes of each other. Please just edit your post if you have something else to add and nobody else has replied. Thanks bro. But wow, that's just terrible. And that girl going around showing people pictures of that sh*t.. f*cking wrong. She should get beaten down. That's just wrong.
Sorry about that, CelticBalla.I'd like to add that there will most likely be a lockdown tomorrow. Also, I was watching Fox11 news this morning and my friend was on it. He wasn't being interviewed or anything. I just saw him standing around with a group of kids, smiling at the camera like idiots.
It turns out that this dude was in my school in the first semester, but because he failed every class, he was advised to go to another school, known as March, where all highschool failures in Moreno Valley go to. He was from a local gang, known as Sex Cash. I suppose a rival gang shot him in the head.Today, a group of black kids got in a fight. It looked like a huge mosh pit, except that everyone fighting was black and didn't have music playing the background. The kids fighting were from Sex Cash and another gang, known as D-Block.This sh*t is really getting out of hand at my school. The cops were all over the place today, too. Apparently, someone spread a rumor that another shooting was going to happen right after school. We didn't have a lockdown like I said we would, but we did have a Flex Day, which is a shortened day at Vista del Lago. Normally, school ends at 3:04, but it ended at 1:29 today.Other than the fight, cops patrolling the school, and dudes giving other dudes Valentine's cards, nothing was out of the ordinary.
Yeah that really sucks man, I hope you stay safe. I hope it doesn't come to police staying at your school throughout the entire day and school year. We have that here and it really sucks....and im not talking about 2 or 3. Hopefully everything will be straightened out.

Sounds like it is getting really crazy at your. I am hoping it all gets straightened out at your school.
o wow thats sad. That girl is messsed up. Why would you liek to take pictures of dead people and show it to people? Its just wrong and his family wont appreciate it. Hope you stay safe there. Good thing my school nothing ever happens. There haven't been a fight in like 2 years but it gets boring cause there's nothing to watch after school.
I'd prefer being at a school where fights hardly occur than be at a school where gun threats cause the entire city to panic.
