Everyone states that the Mavs have the best bench in the league. Who is the best player on our bench?StackhouseGeorgeBucknerJohnsonDiopCroshereI'd say that its really between Stack and Devean although one could make an arguement that Diop is in the mix since he will have to play better without Mbenga being there behind him. I'm still debating with myself on this one and will answer later.

    I'd say Stack.

Devean George is my pick. He can play multiple position and can force centers to guard the perimeter which they aren't comfortable with. Also Dallas doesn't lose too much rebounding with this setup and if the other team goes smaller than Dallas gets back the rebounding advantage along with spreading the floor. He can guard most power forwards in the nba. He is a better version of Griffin imo.

Stack w/o a doubt he is capable of lighting it up as he still has it in him and he has been playing really well as of late. He is the 6th man of their team and won the 6th man of the league award a couple of years ago.

I agree with Mavsfan, even though Stack is so instrumental to the team coming off the bench, George just gives the team an added level. His ability to play anywhere on the floor as well as guard the opposing team's high scorer, really no matter what position.

I'd call it a tie between Stack and George.George does so much for the Mavs aff the bench, he's very versatile.Stack provides the offensive spark the Mavs need from time to time.

Give me Devean George easy in this one. He is a better defender than Stackhouse, and he has shown that he is a good scorer. Stackhouse is more of a selfish player, and I think George lets the game come to him a little bit more. Stackhouse is pretty inconsistent as well. I just really dont like him to be honest...

I've yet to post in here. So I'll give my thoughts.I'm agreeing with Marvin. It's really a tie between Stack and George. Neither are great enough to be ahead of one another. I think the last stretch of games show what Stack brings to this club and why he's an important factor come playoff time. Of the guys off the bench, he's the only guy who can create his own shot and be a threat for the opposing team. No offense to George, but he's a spot up shooter. His defense is what he brings. There two different players who bring different looks that are needed. George keys are defense, rebounding. Stack I feel and I know mavsfan will disagree, but I love his ball movement(yes he does pass the ball) this year and ability to score. Both players hustle, have attitude and guts. It's a tie imo.

The difference is George knows his limitations and Stack doesn't. How many times you can sense Stack is going to turn the ball over before it happens? George knows that if he isn't open to past to a player that can. Dallas already has players that can create their shot so Stackhouse isn't needed. George's defense is there every game while Stackhouse's game is there sometimes. Pretty much he is a poor man's Josh Howard (Stackhouse).

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The difference is George knows his limitations and Stack doesn't. How many times you can sense Stack is going to turn the ball over before it happens?</div>Disagree, this year Stack has not stepped on anyone's toes and let the game come to him. His minutes are down and he's playing within the team. He's not hogging the ball and trying to do things he's not capable of.On turning the ball over, I cringe every time George attempts to drive. Same goes for Buckner. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Dallas already has players that can create their shot so Stackhouse isn't needed</div>Wrong as evidenced by the recent stretch of games. He's been key in 3rd quarters for us, why because he's been able to continue the offense without any dropoff. We have zero players off the bench who can create their own shot. This is where Stack is important. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>George's defense is there every game while Stackhouse's game is there sometimes.</div>No it isn't. There's been games where George has been non existant for us. Don't give me he's more consistent. George has always been a player known for his inconsistency. Bottom line, both players are inconsistent but give it their all when they come onto the court.

No George's shooting is streaky but he plays solid defense all the time. Sometimes though a hot shooter will beat a good defender or George gets matched up with someone too quick for him like Wade. Stackhouse is not as gifted defensively or rebounding wise so most of his worth comes if he is making shots or not and there is where the inconsistency Stackhouse brings that George doesn't.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>No George's shooting is streaky but he plays solid defense all the time.</div>His defense has been up and down. There's been games he's been in foul trouble and had his share of Avery's screams. All the time is just being a homer and I'm pro George.
