Dame is alpha enough for Cousins. Should have offered CJ.

"Jimmer thinks everybody is stupid," said an NBA assistant who worked with Fredette. "He thinks everybody needs to come and just turn over their offense and let him shoot it anytime he wants. That's not how the league works."

Still a great deal for NOP, but lots of things going on outside of trade. Looks like a 2017 and 2019 first, SAC loses their first this year if it's outside the top 10 and they were at risk to lose that. Obviously 200M is a lot to spend on any player, especially one that is such a drain on culture.

The quotes from his agent I call BS on. That has a lot to do with Cousins not being eligible for the $200m DPE if he is traded. That's a lot of money for a player and agent to lose.

Seeing what the Kings thought he was worth, we absolutely should not have. Could have gotten him for far cheaper by the looks of it.

Agree on the first part. Not that I think we would of done that since the other teams had low offers too but remember CJ has poison pill contract right now.

Weird that it didn't take a CJ level player to get him. Maybe Butler could be had for less than CJ.

Not sure how much of that comment was sarcastic anymore.

Good deal for NOP. Good move by Sac to cut the cord.

I think this was a good move for Sacramento. They obviously made the choice to not pay him max because of all his bullshit. So then it comes down to who wants to trade a bunch of assets for likely a half season rental. No way would he resign here so anyone wanting to trade CJ, or Crabbe and two firsts for a half season rental would not make a very good GM.

    Edit: I'm a dumbass

I don't know how to feel about it, I think boogie is pretty toxic but hes so good. Weird weird night. Gonna be interesting to see if next year pels can get him to sign long term. Must be what they are banking on

Cousins was on record saying he was going to resign for this big pay day. There was no drama. The Kings got impatient on their rebuild.

Obviously we could but decided not to, hopefully this means we have a realistic deal in mind for someone more sure and reliable like two guys with two years left on their contracts, George and Butler.

He has 1.5 years on his contract. He's not a FA until July 2018
