I think Noel can, problem is he has been injured so much same with Embiid that they don't really have much time to test it before having to pay Noel a huge contract.

I would agree with that....with this caveat. Nurkic isn't used to playing as many minutes as Embiid does when he's healthy. Perhaps there is room for them both in almost a straight platoon situation.

I wish Boston would hurry up and decide who they want. With all their draft picks, Avery, Crowder....... they are in every discussion.
Blake Griffin , Butler, Okafor......Seems like everyone is waiting on them.

They might not want to trade that picks at all. They know that they'll have to compete with LeBron's Cavaliers and a very strong Warriors team for titles now. If they acquire the best talent available in the upcoming draft (Fultz, Jackson, whoever) and then the best talent in next year's draft, they will have a great young core to compete in the future. It's not like Isaiah Thomas is old either, and their squad is good enough to be consistently in the playoffs even now.

They are probably asking themselves if trading for someone like Butler would already put them up there. In all honesty though they've missed the trick with not trading for Cousins, they could have probably got him for Marcus Smart plus Nets' pick from next year, it's an infinitely better offer than what New Orleans gave them. They'd still have this year's pick plus a bunch of future picks to trade for another player - a package of Crowder/Bradley, Jaylen Brown and Nets 2017 pick COULD land them Paul George or Jimmy Butler (they'd have to clear salaries but not much). Imagine lining up with Thomas, Butler, Bradley/Crowder, Horford and Cousins. That's an instant contender and possibly the best and most balanced team in the NBA too.

Oh Danny boy think he smarter than everyone else. He not going pull the trigger until he get another lopsided trade like he had before but the problem with that no one going to give him that trade. Danny you want Griffin and Bulter but if you don't give up no value back. So long run this will bite him in the ass. Keep waiting and have your team continue to watch Cleveland go to the NBA championship or give up some those assets and maybe get over that hump.

I agree. I think us fans are over valuing the lower two 1st round draft picks.

Yeah they had enough assets to gamble on Cousins. And they talked with Sac about it for a year, and still did not pull the trigger.

Was Ainge really smart or really stupid?

    If this is true...
Jesusfuckingchrist Neil! WTF is wrong with you!?! Thank jeebus that every single primary target of yours has left you holding your dick, and forced you to move on to better* secondary targets. How is it that other people have saved your ass over and over again?

*The only time this hasn't worked in our favor was this past summer with Whiteside/Turner.

But maybe we didn't need to give up much to get Chandler.

They would have more value with a team like brooklyn who has a bare cupboard of picks at the moment.

Exactly. We're only hearing one side of a rumored deal. If Olshey had been able to grab Chandler for Ezeli and a pick and had kept Plumlee, would the Blazers have been in better shape as far as making the playoffs this year? Absolutely.

Yes. I'd rather have Meyers sitting on the bench 48mpg, and use him in a trade in a year or two, than trade him now for Chandler. Chandler makes $3M more than Meyers.

And we would be much worse off in any season after that as Plumlee would leave in the Summer anyway and 34-year old Chandler a $12M a year would not be helping us anymore. Oh and we would have lost the pick too.

I really don't see how anyone could argue with the Nurkic deal. He suits us better than Plumlee, #22 pick in this draft is going to be valuable and we got more value for Mase than Kings got for Cousins.
