the sadder part to me is that two people on the list of heavyweights discussing high-level meetings with the Chinese ambassador have yahoo and gmail accounts for their business.
Any SOS worth their salt knows about how the Chinese need to save face when entering negotiations....they prefer to talk off the record first....just like their hiway patrol officers settle traffic accidents on the street without courts and lawyers...the Chinese do not use linear approaches to anything...they like to start in the middle and work their way out to the edges. They call it Ren nau.....purposely humanize a situation in negotiations. It's not unusual...it's how Taiwan has avoided invasion for a century
20 years in Taiwan traveled throughout mainland China twice...my inlaws are all Taiwanese and I learned a lot over there ..it was humbling.
