<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>San Jose Mercury - The father of Kevin Durant has said that he may return to the University of Texas for his sophomore season."There's a chance he would come back to Texas next year," said Durant's father, Wayne Pratt. "Kevin is so young. There's not a rush for him to go to the NBA. Right now, we're not even talking about that. We're talking about winning the Big 12, and Kevin continuing to progress academically."</div>Source: The Mercury NewsIt's doubtful, but I wouldn't mind that one bit... unless the Sixers end up with one of the first two picks. :happy0144: But, hypothetically speaking, what would happen if both Durant and Oden stayed in school? How would this draft class be viewed then?

Eh, nobody should pay much attention to this at all. Every underclassmen and everyone associated with them will say the right things. They want to stay in school, they love the college experience, they love the atmosphere, they want an education, etc. But nobody knows if they are coming out or not, even the players themselves.

All I can say is this - If you are Kevin Durant, who probably would have turned pro a year ago if the rule change never took place, and you are getting talked up as the next great thing... with w guaranteed top 2 selection, with all that guaranteed money... in his head, knowing that he can still get his education... it will be hard to turn away from it. That's all I'm saying.

Even if he decided not to come out this year, I don't see anybody (except Oden if he stays put too) who would be the #1 pick over him in next year's draft. I guess it all depends on patience and preference, really. Who knows, maybe he's enjoying life here enough to where he eventually decides to stay. I think the NCAA tournament will have a huge impact on his decision... but I still see him declaring.I know people here in Austin are praying he stays, and I think the biggest influence on his decision (at least college-wise) is his close relationship with Augustin. Hopefully Augustin convinces him to stay. :dribble:

I won't believe anything he says about staying till after it actually happens.

Durant is already NBA ready, and Texas won't do any damage in the tourney, anyways. I think it's BS that Durant won't be drafted this year.

But, why risk the possibility of injury throughout another year of college when all the guarantees are sitting right in front of your face?

I don't see him staying, but I hope he does unless the ping-pong balls bounce Philadelphia's way. :shifty2:

Perk will reject those ping pong balls away from you. Then Scal will pick up the lose ping pong balls while screaming "those balls are mine!"
