Well I guess I find him funnier just because I'm latino and those jokes are funny...but stealing? He's got no dignity
<span style="font-family:Arial">Looks like Bill Cosby is now Carlos Mencias latest source for material. This is a clip from 1983 of Cosby followed by a clip of Carlos Mencia using the same joke in a recent comedy tour.</span>http://www.break.com/index/carlos_mencia_s...from_cosby.html
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>What a bunch of haters...my god. His plagirized standups are just hilarious. I have been a fan of his even before his "fame" on comedy central. He is not my favorite comedian by an means but the guy got stolen jokes.</div> :winkglasses:

<span style="font-family:Century Gothic">Some kid in my AP US History class told me about this video but I thought he was just making sh*t up because I was watching a Carlos Mencia show on my friend's PSP and the kid said, "Damn... Mencia sucks." Then he got into the video talk and I now know that he wasn't just making sh*t up.</span>

In other words, people like what makes them laugh more...not because of how it's commercialized or only because it's popular or whatever.

I think they're pretty similarly commercialized. That's the reason laff trax was created. They had to actually let people know when to laugh, because comedy is sometimes very poor (like in Full House, when Michelle says something ridiculously stupid and the "crowd" laughs). Most people have a pretty terrible sense of humor. People like Conan O'Brien go largely unnoticed overall compared to corny people like Jay Leno or Jimmy Kimmel. Shows like Friends run for like what, 12 f*cking years? That show was really one of the least funny shows considered to be a comedy. Then you've got guys like Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson who play the same goddamned character in every movie. I'm not going to say that there aren't funny guys that are popular, because there are (a guy like Chappelle is a good example), but to say that humor is less popularity-based than music is kind of silly.edit: I will say that humor has IN THE PAST had a more quality-based approach. Examples being Monty Python and Mel Brooks movies. People will most likely get the comedy in those for another fifty years at least. A movie like Anchorman will probably be forgotten.
