Do u think bargnani will eventually pretty close to dirk in terms of skill level? He's already posting better numbers than dirk did in his first year.
He has not shown he is as skilled as Dirk nor as purely talented as Dirk is. No one in the league is at that height with that range.BUT, this kid has a lot of potential. He is a fantastic shooter, got some nice moves to get free from defender, and has confidence. He is more polished than Dirk was in his rookie year. Do I think he can be the next Dirk? Possibly, but those are HUGE shoes to fill.
No, he's going to be his own player. I don't like comparisons because most of the time they aren't even correct or near the same. There's always going to be something that sets them apart. So is he the next Bargnani? Yes, he is.
He's also older than Dirk was in his first year and he's also played pro ball in Europe prior to this. It's tough to say at this point if he'll be like Dirk because it's not easy to produce the way Nowitzki does. As a Raps fan I sure hope he can develop into an All-Star because if he does then Toronto is going to be scary with him and Bosh growing up as a duo in this league. I think Bargnani has the potential to be an All-Star for sure. He needs to improve his rebounding a lot. Defensively he's better than I thought. He's a very good passer already and his three point shot obviously is his strength. Whether he develops into a star is up to him. You can't really say at this point, but I definitely think he has that potential.
When he was getting drafted I thought so yes. I have not watched him enough this season to say anything right now.

Nah, he'll be a solid role player, but I don't see him as an all-star, though being an all star doesn't mean much.

LOL. You know nothing about him man. He is going to be an amazing offensive player. On offense, he plays like Dirk. He can hit a shot, but he is also quick, and capable of driving. He is so versatile. It creates matchup problems because if the bigs come up on him to defend his shot, he will blow right by him, and if a smaller guy comes up on him, he will rain 3's from downtown. He is so gifted offensively. He is also a very good passer for a big man. Both Bargnani and Bosh are good passers. But I think he will be a better defensive player than Dirk. He has better shot blocking instincts. He averages .84 right now, and this is his rookie year playing against tough NBA big men. He played against soft white guys in years past. The defense wil take some adjusting. I think he can get near 2 in the future. He is a good shotblocker. He sometimes gets burned, and he sometimes goes for pump fakes, but he's got some good defensive instincts. If he could continue to learn about not fouling, and if he could improve his perimeter defense, he would be a solid defensive player. Dirk was probably horrid in his rookie year. I think he's got some Pau and some Dirk in him. Regardless, he is a unique player, and he's got a great future ahead of him.
yeah I think he is a mix between pau and dirk and will always be. right now he relys on the 3 too much but in the end he will be like pau on defense, meaning getting a few blocks but other than that soft.
He likes to shoot threes, but he can switch it up every now and then. I've seen him take it in for a layup, dunk, or a foul call. He's got alot of quickness for a big man. And he tries to shoot the mid range sometimes too. One thing that I'd like him to work on offensively is his post game though. He doesn't have much of a post game besides turn around jumpers.
He's going to be himself. Sooner or later the comparisons will disappear. But he needs to improve on his defense and rebounding. He's capable of getting around 10RPG. He's tall for his position and should be able to get at least 2BPG. He's already starting to develop nicely as the season goes by. October he was kinda nervous and made many rookie mistakes and just jacked up the 3 and miss it. As the season went on he's doing a mixture of Driving to the basket and shooting the 3. He has an ugly pump fake to me that actually gets people on their feet all the time which gives him that open lane for a drive. He's quick one he gets the ball he's in the triple threat position and decides to either drive or shoot or pass.
I dont see him being as good as Dirk is, but he is definaltey going to be an all-star. It is just really to hard to tell at this point. I see him being a guy who will get you 22 points and 9 or 10 boards in his prime, but Dirk is just so great. It is really hard to tell at this point....
IMO, hes a better defender...his defense is underrated. I dont know why but people got all pissed when I made this comparison before, but I still stay true to it....I see alotve Gasol in him, even though he can hit that 3 like Dirk, I think hes going to be more of a low post presence than anyhting else, ive seen alotve characteristics from him thats like Gasol.

Bargnani thrives on the perimeter where he uses his speed/size to get shots off. Hopefully he takes it inside more as he matures/gets used to the NBA game.
Forget comparing this guy. He's awesome. He can drive, shoot, and pass. He has alot of potential. He'll be big one day. The thing he has a problem with this year is that he's too unselfish. He passes when he should shoot. He needs to take more shots when he's on fire.
