Yeah, a 41 one year old guy who has not played NBA basketball in almost 4 years is going to help a contender in the playoffs...are you guys freaking kidding me?

Unless he's in incredible shape, I don't see him being in a rotation role for any team...

Yeah, he's 41 I doubt he has much left in the tank. Give it up Scottie, and become a coach..

Wasn't he booted as an analyst? If he can't be an analyst, I can't see him making a living as a coach either....

Also, I don't think he was booted off as an analyst because he didn't know what he was talking about, it had more to do with his boring personality. Listening to Scottie Pippen talk could put me to sleep, his voice was deep and slow spoken and he made himself sound like he was reading off of a cue card.

Oh....I thought it had to do with the fact that he didn't know the game as well as he should have...

Honestly, I don't think this is that big of a deal. The guy could help in some situations. He said himself the he wouldn't expect to play many minutes - but Pippen could come of the bench in situational type games and help. He provides vet experience which could def help in the playoffs for a team like cleveland. I would welcome him to Detroit - but like he said - we're probably overstocked.

I think some of you need to revisist Scottie's last year in the NBA and realize he was not going to help a team that year. And add the 3 years he's been sitting at home, will realize he won't be giving any team 10 minutes of good play this year. I'll probably hear a response that's he in better shape. Big deal, staying in shape is different when your skills are not there.

I think Scottie could be a good player still. From what I've seen on him on ABC he looks like he's stil in shape. I'd definetley take him on the Pacers.

Scottie Pippen played at around 215 pounds, he could easily put on 15 pounds and still look fine to the average viewer on TV. Pippen is probably in good shape but it doesn't matter, he's 41, bad knees, has lost speed, he's simply not going to be effective on the floor....being out of the league for 4 years and coming in at midseason? I think like Jordan he's coming back just to see if he can do it.

While reading the rgm boards I came across something that has me starting to question Pippen's sanity.http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baske...I-sportstop-hed<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"I know that, but I think people love me just as much as they love Michael," Pippen said. "The fans who understand the game, the GMs and coaches. I think they'd rather have a Scottie than a Michael."There was an awkward, shocked pause after Pippen answered?Pippen over Jordan??and someone finally asked why."Because I'm an all-around player," Pippen added. "Coaches would rather have a Scottie-type player than a Michael. I was an all-around player. I made people around me better."</div>

You know what, at first I was entertaining the fact that Scottie could sign with the Lakers and that he would help us. But now, I just don't want him in a Laker uniform. Scottie is a guy that would not even acknowledge that Kobe could by the END of his carear become better than Jordan yet now he is saying that coaches would rather have himself than Jordan...go figure...I hope the Lakers don't pick him up. Scottie was a great player in his day but those days are over. He could have had a ring with Los Angeles in 2000 but decided to sign with the Blazers at that point so his loss. The only upside is that he obviously knows the triangle and Phil Jackson well. So if he signs with us (which he probably won't ) than fine if he doesn't and signs with a team like the Heat that would be fine too.

I don't see why he'd be interested in joining championship caliber teams (other than aiming for another ring), who clearly don't need him. He's better off joining a young team like the Bobcats or hornets. Those teams would make more use of his experience. I can see him averaging about 9-10 ppg, while playing 15-20 minutes off the bench. I wouldn't go back to playing if I was him, but if that's what he really wants, then I wish him good luck.

Guys, I figured out why he wants to come back. He has no money left. He's spent all of the money he earned in his playing days. He's broke. He recentely brought an airplane and still owes 5 million dollars. He wants to come back for the money.
