I see your point. I was meaning adult leagues. And she has played on some boys teams on a couple tourneys. I was nervous, but she held her own. My wife plays on an adult co-ed Futsal team as well. I just don't like any separation to be honest. Don't like the term ONLY when it comes to sports......
I play at gyms and we have guys from 16 up to 65 playing. I can understand people wanting to be in the same range when it comes to age or gender I guess, but flat out don't like only leagues when it comes to sexual orientation. Just leaves the door open to discrimination.
Just got out. When I got there, during shootaround, I was a little rusty but I eventually found my shot and made 6 of 7 threes. Then we did a layup line and I didn't do very well there. Missed some layups and shots but hit a 3. Then it was time for scrimmage. In my first run, I shook a guy and banked in a 3. My D (which is usually my strength) was horrible because I was already exhausted. In my second run, I made back to back 3s and grabbed 3 rebounds. In my last run, I made another three. All in all, I was obviously very happy on offense but was still way outta shape. I hadn't done any type of exercise since the marathon in November. So the draft is Monday. Then we find out what team we made at a party on Thursday. Then games start Saturday.
My last ever league game at Lake Shore Athletic Club in Vancouver I hit 11 threes, a layup and 6 of 6 free throws to ice the game. No lie, I went out with a bang. I'm jealous of you for having knees that can take this. My doc said they could remove my knee caps and scrape the crust off of them or some such procedure. Have fun, you never know when you won't be able to do it anymore. I don't suppose they'd let me in a wheelchair league as I can walk. I suppose being able to use my legs would be an advantage. I bet Oden's knees are better than mine.
That was right about the time a teammate introduced me to Muchas Gracias and I gained 80lbs in 6 months.
