    When I was single and dating in all seriousness I'd give it 3 dates before bringing it up unless the lady was hinting otherwise.

    I never did that either...my logic was to take a dancing class...tennis lesson...put myself into situations of interest and find someone like minded...it worked..happily married for 28 years and we still go out to play tennis, although now as we're older, badminton more often than not..still shoot hoops in the driveway and hike together.....take a cooking class, volunteer at a library, etc...I find that by simply doing things you meet people who like to do things
