<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Two years ago President Bush and Saudi Arabia's then Crown Prince Abdullah jointly called for a greater exchange of students, but recent revelations of a terror plot and a history of lax screening have raised concerns about the nearly 10,000 Saudis in the United States on student visas</div>http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewNation.asp?Page...T20070216a.html Considering all the stupid mistakes we make with screening, this could be an issue, I'm sure a vast majority of these people are here for the right reasons but thats a lot of young Saudi's.

lol so what do you suppose we should do - go find all those 10,000 Saudis and screen them for any terrorist activities? I don't think so - the 10,000 students that were given the gift of coming to the United States are genuine students. The Saudi King, I imagine, took this opportunity to bring in the most deserving students to represent/benefit his country.

Why would you send 10,000 students to an inferior education system.2. That was the stupidest comment ever, I'm sorry if you think so - but reality is Saudi Arabia is one of the safest countries in the world - yes, safer than any US city. No one would bother any American who comes to Saudi. You're so f*cking ignorant sometimes, BCB.

Pretty sure that was sarcasm by BCB not sure. Sending Americans to Saudi Arabia for education is like sending people to Africa for AIDS treatment.

It is concerning that there is so many people in this country unscreened. yeah the majority of them are probably here for an education. but the majority of Muslims on September 10th, 2001 where here for either an education or personal freedom, 20 wheren't. those 20 caused one of the biggest terrorist attacks our country has ever seen. Saudi Arabians education system may not be the greatest in the world, but there are some people from the US who do go there, and other Arabic countries to get an education. If you're majoring in something like Islamic studies those are very good places to study because you get a perspective which the US cannot offer. Also, I believe the University in Ryadadh(sp?) is one of the better accredited schools in the world; though don't quote me on that I do tend to get foriegn schools mixed up.

Saudi Arabia might have lower crime rates but I'd rather have higher crime and actually HAVE a justice system, unlike Saudi Arabia where prisoners have no rights, no fair trials and many times no trial at all, are tortured, executed, are not allowed to contact family/counsel...etc...I wouldn't think of committing a crime there either...imagine how many innocents get caught in that web...ugh. The Saudi 'justice system' is a crime in itself.
