Knicks Making Play For Gooden?New York Daily News -Isiah Thomas keeps saying that the Knicks are unlikely to be players ahead of the trade deadline, but rumors are surfacing that they are showing interest in Drew Gooden, Ruben Patterson and Ron Artest."Where we started from, you needed to keep building a team. But where we are now, I think the building now comes from within," Thomas said. "I don't see us making a lot of moves."I don't expect a whole lot of movement. I really don't."LinkI would love nothing more for Cleveland to make a push for Frye, and Steve Francis.

Why would NY trade Frye for Gooden? The Cavs don't need Francis.

Cleveland needs a Point Guard, Steve Francis looks to be the only one out there good enough for the job. He is still very good, just not fitting in with N.Y.

I just don't see anything good coming from a deal like this at all...Could Francis come back to life in Cleveland? Yes, but I wouldn't want a knucklehead like him on my team. Steve Francis is just one of those guys thats not going to make your team better. He's going to F*ck up on defense, make terrible decisions, shoot too much...etc...Sure he can score and he can make plays with his athletic ability...but who cares... If I'm a GM I wouldn't touch anyone from the Knicks, the Knicks are not dealing anyone I want on my team.

Cleveland needs to make a deal and grab a PG out there. Hell, if it comes down to it, have LeBron play PF. As long as we get a better PG.

Plus you don't make your franchise player play out of position to ger someone like Francis, or anyone else for that matter.

He wont be playing out of position, he is tall enough, and strong enough to play PF. So there is no problem at all for that. But if we traded Gooden, and didn't get another big man in the trade. James would have to share some time at the PF spot. I honestly don't think he would care.

Are you forgetting about Marshall? Yep you are. LeBron would not play the 4.

Marshall? :lol:The guy has no defense what so ever, I'm not forgetting about him, but the fact is, James will show how find himself playing at PF, if Gooden goes in a deal, and we don't get another PF. Marshall of course would play PF here and there, and Z and Anderson would switch with the Center, and Andy would play PF when Marshall is out. But still, some how, James will find himself playing at PF.

Don't get me wrong, steve francis is a great guy but as a player he can be a bit crazy and do some not so good things on the court so hmm ...mabye getting traded will change his outlook on the game aswell as his gameplay, he could be tracy mcgrady minded in a way lol, if you know what I mean.

Those are all fairly promising, and all young players.
