What sets Jackie apart is the way he blocks and edits his fight scenes. It's so much better than anything Hollywood can do. I remember watching his films as a kid and going "there's a rhythm at work here.' Didn't realize what it was tell years later. It reminds me of the old Basil Rathbone swashbuckler movies. Rathbone was THE Royal Army Fencing Champion and he was probably the most skilled fencer in movie history. They had to bring Olympic level fencing to match him. Jackie's like that. He brings in people and they have to up their game.

I was a huge jackie chan fan growing up. I remember in like the 3rd or 4th grade i had bronchitis and was out of school for 2 weeks. My mom rented me a new jackie chan movie every night as long as i did my school work.

There are 3 action films i watched in rotation since as long as i can remember. Bloodsport, kickboxer, and braveheart.

I was a big terminator 2 fan as well. But i refuse thos shower james cameron with praises because of avatar. That turd film really shit on a great career. Hey lets completely copy the plot of Pocahontas, and just have it on a different planet. Then lets take sigourney weaver and make her character fucking great for like 3 seconds then forget about her. Fuck you james cameron.

Kung fury and the new mad max are pure badass action. I give them 100 out of 3 stars. The directors basically said plot? Story line? Fuck that, let's just kill nazis and kick ass.

I remember getting an autographed First Strike poster. I gave it to a kid that was a fan. Blew his mind. I got some other stuff, but I can't remember the other stuff now.

How he hasn't killed somebody yet I'll never know. You can almost feel the teeth loosening in his movies.

Good list! Though, with respect, I personally would classify Full Metal Jacket as a "War Movie", rather than an action movie. Same with Saving Private Ryan, and etc etc.

I really need to go back and see Die Hard again. I've heard about it over the years, but haven't actually sat down and watched it.

Right now, I'm 22 minutes into the first Rush Hour. Got a Jackie Chan thing going on right now thanks to this thread.

I like that one North Korean flick with Kim Jung Il where he takes on and conquers America. Oh wait, that is every North Korean film.

I liked all the Harrison Ford Indiana Jones movies. Everyone One. You couldn't just choose one.

The best part about that script is that 5 assassins with enough firepower to waste a concrete building drop their weapons to a skinny Segal with a 9mi. l
