He should've been T'd and fined for that. F the NBA for not standing up for their refs. You get a 10K-20K fine for saying: "I don't agree with the refs calls tonight..." But you can make severe enough contact (due to your whiny fucking complaining) to cause a ref to bleed with no penalty?
League had to ensure the golden team made it to the finals for the dream match-up. Only once they were there and the public outcry was too great did the league finally suspend him for his antics. Pathetic.
If Rasheed Wallace had done the things Green did last year and this year, Wallace's NBA career would have ended right there. It's almost hilarious that Wallace got a tech for "staring too hard" at an official and Green smacked an official with no repercussions. The official probably apologized to Green.
This still pisses me off. I was at a game in Utah where the refs were obviously baiting him, and of course the crowd was not helping. I am not sure I have ever been so irate at what was going on during a game. Sheed inevitably went ballistic..... and I could not blame him.
For a while they were giving Sheed a technical within the first few minutes of games, for no reason whatsoever, and then holding it over his head the rest of the game. It was ridiculous.
Whenever there was a questionable call (i.e Malone pushing Sheed away from the basket, or calling one on Sheed for whatever reason, one ref in particular would run down the court staring at him the whole time (instead of watching the action on the court), waiting for him to do anything that would warrant a technical. Then finally he did call the T which was in no comparison as bad as the complaining that was was being done by Jerry Sloan. Wallace obviously got pissed about it, showed his frustration and got another T which ended with Sheed going ballistic and having to be restrained as he was ushered to the locker room. I had good seats and could see it all develop. The ref would actually stare down Sheed more than the other way around. He baited him. I remember specifically because I was yelling at the ref about it and got into it with the Jazz fans sitting around me.
Sheed was his own worst enemy. He earned his reputation. Yeah, Draymond Green gets away with way too much shit. But it's not like Sheed was a victim. He didn't enter the league with a target on his back. He put that target there himself. BNM
After reading the above defenses of Sheed, I knew you'd get here to shit on Sheed, repeating the same old sloganeering mantra you've repeated for years whenever anyone has anything new to say about him.
Sheed was a jackass, and he paid for it. Green is worse, and is not punished. Harden is worse, and is not punished. #suckitrefs #suckitNBA
And you, predictably, continue to worship at the altar of a false profit. That's the thing about facts, they are independent of time. So, while opinions may change, moderate or be colored by nostalgia over time, facts remain unchanged. Did you forget about the time Sheed hit Sabonis in the face with a towel on national TV? Bill Walton didn't: “It was one of the lowest moments of my life,” he said. “If I was any kind of a man, I would have got up from that broadcast table and walked across the court and punched Rasheed Wallace in the nose. But I let Sabonis and the game of basketball and the human race down that day.” It seems not everyone is a Sheed apologist. His temper and antics hurt his team. His technicals, ejections and suspensions cost his team wins. That incident led to Sabonis retiring for a year. Yeah, great teammate that Sheed. BNM
That's all ya got? A towel in the face, something we all experienced in high school P.E., justified ending 21 straight years of making the playoffs? Let's hope a pin never drops near you. You'll probably want a nuclear war in retaliation.
Green draws blood and gets away scot free, but this gets Coach Bud a 1 game suspension without pay: https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v...UVfHZGCjPTwUESekB9JAjxY-rbpyoZ7_JeKGvANWnU&e= BNM
I watched the Duke North Carolina game last night at work and low and behold....Nolan Smith is an assistant coach for Duke! Didn't pick his nose once on camera though...his go to move
