You can save money by getting stoned at home and watching for free on the computer. You won't notice the video quality that way, and best of all, you can angrily turn off the game with 5 minutes left, every time. Works for me!
It would depend on the price. A premium price ought to warrant a premium product - this team is far from that. I'd wait to see what Neil does this summer before I'd commit.
I grew weary of March Madness a few years ago. It seemed like the one-and-done rule turned the college game into a bunch of perimeter passes leading to a 3-pointer, with too few players sticking around long enough to develop anything resembling a balanced play. No post-ups, no mid-range, no drives. I've been starting to feel this year that the NBA game is headed the same direction, but for different reasons. My answer to the original question is easy. I "checked out" on this team last year, back when most everyone felt Dame and CJ would be a strong combo. I'm not willing to emotionally invest myself in an obvious train wreck, and I'm not confident that management has the balls to make the needed changes. I'm still a fan, but the game-to-game outcome doesn't much affect me.
Obviously, only you can decide what the threshold is for the Blazers to be good enough to be worth parting with your hard-earned dollars. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say that the chances are reasonably good that Olshey can use the assets he has available to him to field a team that has a good shot at making the playoffs next season. So, if watching a fun, young team win somewhere around 45 games or so, probably lose in the first round, but have a shot to advance to the second round is worth your money, I'd say go for it. Anything beyond that in the next couple of years is not likely; so hang onto your money if you're looking to watch a contender.
I'd renew and give you half of the tickets for free. Just something to keep in mind when you make your decision...
Yes, but my point was quantity not quality. In 20 months, the quantity of our current players, by source: 3 free agent changes 2 players by trade 1 draft pick For most other teams, over almost 2 seasons, you could multiply each of those quantities by 3. I'd like to see 3 lists of NBA teams, sorted for the last 20 months, of quantity (not quality) of players now on each team who that team obtained by free agency trade draft I bet we would rank near the bottom on all 3 lists. Remember the story of Rip van Winkle, who napped for 20 years? Olshey has done the same for 20 months.
I renewed as soon as I got my invoice. All of my seats have positive resell value. I sell the ones I cannot use and my profit goes back into the seats I use. Still use MGB's for most of my games but will also use the upgrade system for ones I want closer views. I think getting the poison pill removed from CJ's deal and time for our new bruiser at center is going to make a huge difference. It has been a frustrating process but think we are trending in the right direction. I talked with alot of season ticket holders during the Jailblazer era. Many regretted jumping ship since they missed going to the game. Others said they kept their tickets because they liked watching former Blazers come back home. If you decide that you are not getting the entertainment you want for the price, consider downgrading so that you maintain your discount. You cannot get it back once it is gone and there are plenty of seats that have positive resell value.
The addition of Nurkic is mighty tempting. But it's your money. Life is short. Have fun doing whatever you can, partner!
Is there such a thing "perennial 8th seed"? That hardly exists in this league. Last year, the Rockets were 8 seed. This year, they are killing it as the 3 seed. I can't think of a time when there was a team that was 8 seed every year.
The Rockets have absolutely zero post presence and they are blowing teams out at 43-19. That's gotta tell you something about the NBA.
