Weren't we better at shooting threes when we had Aldridge too? Wes shot so many wide open shots when he played for us.
He has time to grow his game and improve. I was just making sure I wasn't being too homerish. I'll take a 22 year old who can be a poor man's Gasol, with room to improve, any day.
Me too. Even if this is his ceiling (and I don't think it is) I'd be well happy with his current level as a block to build around.
Actually, pretty much the same. Aldridge's last two years here, we were at .372 and .362. In the two seasons since he left we are .370 and .363. Best year in team history, in terms of 3FG% was the 54-win 2008-09 team that shot .383 from 3-point range. We were 5th in the league in 3FG%, but only 9th in made 3-pointers. That team had Steve Blake at .427, Rudy at .399 and even Roy (.377), Outlaw (.377) and Batum (.369) were all above league average (.367 that year). The game has changed, and a lot more 3-pointers are attempted now more than ever, but you may be surprised to know that, all things considered , the best Blazers 3-point shooting team ever was the 1990-91 team that won 63 games. That team led the league in both 3-pointers made (only time in franchise history) at 341 and 3FG% at .377. League average 3FG% was .320 back then. We were clearly the class of the league with Porter (.415) and Ainge (.406) leading the way. BNM
I thought you would all enjoy this. It's an 11 minute highlight reel of Nurkic in 2017 thus far; including highlights from the Thunder game:
