Gerald Green has a toothache, hope this doesn't interfere with his dunks.

yeah post sources..but it's in the herald..I'll post it for you<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>LAS VEGAS - It wasn?t quite the same as Larry Bird walking into the dressing room at the 3-point contest, scanning the room and saying he was looking for the guy who was going to finish second. But Gerald Green had a message for fellow dunk contestant Tyrus Thomas as the two walked into the interview room yesterday. ?I left some space in my bag for the trophy,? Green said. The Celtics [team stats] leaper isn?t really that cocky as he heads into the slam event tonight, but he?s definitely having some fun. The only deterrent so far is a toothache that had him scurrying to a local dentist yesterday morning. ?It?s crazy bad,? Green said. ?They?re talking about a root canal. But I got some antibiotics. I?ll be all right. ?We?re all just having fun right now. It?s my first All-Star Weekend appearance. I?m just excited to be here, and hopefully I can put on a show.? After this show - particularly if he wins - it is incumbent upon Green to show he?s more than just a show. Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and Dominique Wilkins have won the dunk contest. But so have Harold Miner, Isaiah Rider and Kenny Walker. Green wants to be in the former group some day. ?You know what? It?s very important,? Green said, moving forward in his chair at The Palms hotel and casino. ?I had a talk with Danny Ainge. He told me, that?s what I want to be. I don?t want to just stop here. ?I want to be known as a great player like Paul Pierce [stats] or Kobe Bryant or Vince Carter. Hopefully some day I can come to All-Star Weekend as a player instead of being in the dunk contest.? But he wouldn?t necessarily leave the contest behind, as others have done. ?I don?t know,? Green said. ?If I won and came back, it would make me work even harder to show people I?m more than a dunker. If I win, I probably would come back. But I want to be known as a player.? To that end, his performance in Wednesday?s streak-breaking win over Milwaukee stands both as encouragement and as a lesson. Green saved the Celts with 21 points in under 20 minutes, making 8-of-9 shots from the floor (and all five of his 3-pointers). But he also had to be removed for defensive reasons in the last quarter when the Bucks were threatening to make a run. He believes he?s on the right track. ?It?s so different,? Green said. ?I think last year I wasn?t very aggressive. I was kind of just going through the motions, just going out there with no instincts. This year I?m way more aggressive. I?m thinking the game a lot better. I know where to be on the floor at times, where last year I didn?t. I think this year has been a drastic change, but I?ve still got a lot of things to work on. ?I think I?ve just got to go get it. I can?t sit back and let it come around. I?ve got to go get it. I?ve got to develop myself, work hard over the summer and just get it. I have to add a defensive presence. I want to be a defensive player. I feel I have the length and quickness to be that. I?ve just got to put that in my mind. I want to be a defensive stopper in this league. It takes time, but it takes a lot of work - a lot of work. And that?s what I?m willing to do.? Tonight he?ll be a dunker - one not nearly as cocky as he seemed in the second paragraph. ?I think everybody has a really good chance,? Green said, assessing the field. ?But I think the stuff I?ve got up my sleeve is pretty good.?</div>http://celtics.bostonherald.com/celtics/vi...amp;format=text

But he got some meds for it and he said he'll be alright. This won't affect his dunks tonight. The national spotlight and the adrenaline level is going to be crazy, he won't even think about that tooth until after the contest.

Gerald seems like he has great character, he seems humble and it seems like he just wants to improve and become the best player he can be, it should be the case for every player but sometimes thats not the case.

Im still taking Gerald to easily win this contest. I think that alot of people arent going to want to vote for Nate because he won it somewhat unfairly last year, some people are going to downgrade Dwight's dunks because he is so tall, and Tyrus isnt as creative as Gerlad. If Gerald just makes all of his dunks, and doesn't try and get TOOO crazy, he should win it. He is the best dunker out of all of them, and he has crazy leaps. I am definitely going for him.

I think trying to get too crazy is what seperates guys like Vince Carter and Gerald Green from the pack...they can cross that line and still make it look pretty

I doubt his toothache will affect his dunking. If he takes his antibiotics, he should be fine and I'm sure his mind isn't on his toothache right now but on the dunk contest. I think he'll be the most creative out of all of them and I hope he takes the trophy home.

Gerald Green might win but, Dwight Howard I heard has a dunk where he dunks two balls and kisses the rim at the same time. [IMG]
