Look I appreciate the few good cops out there who are in it for the right reason, but the justice system is corrupt as shit just like everything else in this country. Making up charges to arrest people just to meet quotas and fill privately owned prisons which exist purely, to make money, not reform criminals which is what their purpose should be.

Our very system is predicated on forcing people into desperation, to commit crimes, to feed the machine. Our system is built on keeping people down. Our government brought drugs here, got people addicted. We have the largest prison population of any country in the world by a long shot. We have only about 5 percent of the world's population and 25% of the world's prisoners. It's fucking ridiculous.

Tl;dr "im a victim, im innocent."

Lets say the cia did bring drugs here. Ok. You still dont have to use them. Im 30 now and no ones ever held me down against my will and injected me with meth or heroin.

Personal accountability. Addicts absolutely despise this term. It's so much easier to play victim. Ileven more annoying is the people who claim addiction is a disease. Oh really? Grow it in a petri dish then? Sack up and dont break the law.

Well, don't go to any of these 'Meet-ups' that Sly promotes. Because that's what they do there, you know. They call it a 'shoot-around'.

I got caught by a camera heading west towards the Morrison bridge. However, I had just purchased the vehicle from my dad and hadn't changed the registration yet. They sent a photo of me and a ticket to my dad. He sent a photo back and said, "This obviously isn't me". They rescinded the ticket. And yes, I was 5mph over the limit.

In Taiwan speed cameras are the highway patrol....you could never pull anyone over in traffic there...too congested. My brother in law gave me an old car when he got a new one...I lived on the other side of the island...was playing baseball and opened the glovebox and it was full of those camera tickets...they never bothered to follow up on them ...I prefer them to talking to a cop on the side of the road anyday

So you believe that every law is a good law. The Nazi laws putting Jews into concentration camps, the American laws about slavery...they were all good laws. Anyone who broke those laws should have sacked it up and obeyed the law. They deserved what they got.

Until a couple of centuries ago, people were told that rulers are divinely inspired, and thus all laws by definition are approved by God. I guess some dependent-type people still believe that.

No. not every law is good. but laws like speed limits are in place for a reason and when you get your license you are agreeing to obey traffic laws for the safety of everyone. most of these people that speed 15mph + are also the ones swerving all over the road fucking with their goddamn phone. not to mention speeding saves you almost zero time, especially when not on the highway. speeding in the city is even more pointless. you have so many stop signs and traffic lights and people slowing down and turning in front of you. Do i like the idea of being on camera all the time? No. but guess what? I still wont be getting speeding tickets in the mail because i always set my cruise control to the speed limit, i dont care if it pisses people off behind me. I dont understand why people let other drivers raise their blood pressure, just go where you are going and quit worrying about everyone else. But we live in a society where everyone thinks the world revolves around them and that anyone in their way is doing so on purpose.

Swedish Speed-Camera Pays Drivers to Slow Down

IN JANUARY, KEVIN Richardson won Volkswagen’s The Fun Theory, a contest for ideas to make obeying speed-limits fun. Now, less than a year later, his entry is in use in Stockholm, Sweden.

Is it possible to make road-safety fun? Yes, it turns out. Kevin’s idea is both smart and simple. As well as ticketing you when you run through a speed-radar too fast, Kevin’s “Speed Camera Lottery” also notices you when you come in at or under the speed-limit. It then automatically enters you in a lottery. And here’s the really smart part: the prizes come from the fines paid by speeders.

This would probably never work in the U.S, where speeding fines and red-light cameras exist as revenue streams for the police rather than as deterrents to bad driving, but the Swedish National Society for Road Safety, which worked with Kevin, has found it to be a success. The average speed of cars passing the camera dropped from 32km/h before the experiment to 25km/h after.

Alberta town's photo radar lottery rewards safe drivers
More than $10,000 to be paid to drivers who keep below the speed limit

An Alberta mountain town located west of Calgary is using photo radar not just to ticket speeders, but to capture good driving behaviour and reward it with a gift certificate.

Beginning March in Canmore, licence plates of vehicles recorded by RCMP photo radar going under the speed limit will be entered in a draw. Every week, one driver will win a $250 gift certificate for a Canmore business of their choice.

Joanna McCallum, a town councillor, says it’s a good initiative.

"For the people that are actually obeying the law, and not speeding, this is an opportunity to reinforce that great behaviour," McCallum said.

    Canmore resident Andrew Ewan agrees.

"I think it's great to be actually not so scared of a policeman following you all the time, going 'Oh, what am I doing wrong?’ You could be caught for doing something right," Ewan said.

The town estimates it will collect more than a $100,000 in photo radar fines next year and plans to use more than $10,000 of that money on the draw.

Can we stop with this bullshit? MOST cops are in it for the right reason. The FEW shit bags just destroy the reputation of ALL because it makes for good media clickbait

Kind of like how MOST black people are great people but the media focuses on the FEW shit bags and violence sells rap CDs so people stereotype ALL

    Aren't most Mexicans illegal?

If think that's true, I think you haven't spent much time around people outside your little circle.
