WE NEED A BACKUP PG!!!!You've heard this crap over and over again, butwhat are we going to do witout Nash we never trade for a pg and the best we couls sign was Smush Parker in '05 if we don't trade for a halfway decent backup we are still going to be one of the worst teams, depth-wise so I have an idea Suns receive:Shaun Livingston, cash (ca-ching) Clippers receive: James Jones, Marcus Bankscomments...

I'm reluctant to get rid of James Jones, and I know the Clippers wouldn't do it. They like LIvingston.

We would need someone who could run a fast paced offense too like Nash can.

I did hear that the clips may be a little down on livingston because he may not be developing as fast as they would of liked.

The Clippers would laugh their asses off at that offer, to be honest with you. They are very high on Livingston, and they should be. He has the potential to be an All-Star.

I do, however, agree that Phoenix is in need of a backup point guard. Too bad Marcus hasn't worked out there, although Charles Barkley did bring up a very valid point about Marcus Banks - he hasn't gotten consistent minutes. He got consistent minutes in Minnesota in the second half of last season, and he really did a pretty good job. He needs minutes somewhere.

But, Phoenix's roster isn't built to hope for the best with a young point guard. They need someone that can make smart decisions, and quickly. A guy that they could get that fits there, in my opinion, would be a guy like Carlos Arroyo. He can run, he's a good ballhandler, a solid playmaker, and he can really shoot the basketball. He brings a lot of energy, and word is that he's not all that happy in Orlando. A think Phoenix should try and make a push for Arroyo. If not, maybe a guy like Earl Watson, who can shoot the ball, he's quick, and he is a very solid defender.

Yeah that would be cool if we got Arroyo.

Sergio Rodriquez - seriously. Or Jose Calderon - either could understudy Steve and would be ready to begin taking over minutes as the years go by.

I don't think there is a huge need for a back-up point guard right now, and D'Antoni is too inept a GM to pull off a good deal anyway. Nash has gotten plenty of rest for his back with this injury and when he comes back D'Antoni just has to be smart with his bench and reduce Nash's minutes. Barbosa has been great, Banks has been better and Rose is a capable bench player. If they are smart and don't overplay Nash, he will be fine through the playoffs like he was 2 years ago. What we need would be maybe another big man for rebounding and defensive purposes. I love the team we have now, but we need someone else who can be aggressive inside. I don't expect a move for a big man either so it's no point thinking about it. Mike D is satisfied with the team how it is...

The Clipps would never trade Livingston....Cassell is going to retire in a couple years, and he is going to be the main guy at the guard positon for years to come for them. He is a very talented PG with All-Star potential like CB32 said. James Jones and Marcus Banks isnt THAT bad of an offer for him, but they just wouldnt trade a guy like Livingston as of right now.

You don't think a streak shooter with no upside and a young PG who makes bad decisions as a playmaker is a terrible offer for Livingston? How do you figure. Banks has nowhere near the upside of Livingston, Livingston is better now, and Jones would be berried on the bench behind Mobley/Maggette/Ross/Thomas.

Actually, even worse - the Suns traded the pick Rajon Rondo was selected with.
