I could see Crabbe to Char in a Marvins Williams trade or to Philly for Holmes and perhaps a salaried player with picks or other pieces if needed

We need a stretch 4. Nurk needs room to operate in the post. Trade up for Lauri Markkanen in the draft and you are set.

I just went through every roster in the NBA, the PF situation is dismal at best. Most of the attainable guys are similar to Leonard or Vonleh in actual production, aka they aren't going to step in a be a major difference maker. Markkanen to me would be an awesome addition. If we can't move up then TJ Leaf with a lower pick.

We don't need to add the picks. I assume that either Crabbe or ET will be moved. (My guess is Crabbe) These last two games make me want to keep him but also shows why others will want him. He has played great. Philly got a good preview of what he could do for them. And they have the space.

We just need a prime Udonis Haslem or Nick Collison. Then we need our 6th man with fire power - I'm still not sure that either Crabbe or Turner can be that guy.

I'm good with Harkless as our SF - he seems very well suited to playing with Dame/CJ/Nurkic.

We will have to include a pick if we move Meyers. You could be right about Crabbe though, no doubt with his stats his value is higher than Meyers. There's got to be a few teams out there who values his percentages and shooting ability.

I think we could honeydick them into this deal.

It sucks but I think Noah is really our best bet. We need to keep trying to develop him. I think the talent is there. We're in a bit of a power forward drought after having so many good ones in the 2000s. We need to try to get the most out of Vonleh that's humanly possible.

Probably. Also, draft one. And bide our time until Favors becomes available. I think that's probably the best course of action.
Vonleh is really starting to remind me of Kwame Brown though...but not even that good.

    Fair enough.

Just so you know, that wasn't meant as a personal attack, just that I don't want to put a bunch of effort into speculating and arguing about what we should do when any of a thousand different things can change between now and then. There's still a lot of basketball to be played.

Like the Morris family pulling an O'Doyle family and slipping on a banana peel.

"Morris rules! Morris rules! Morris rules!"

I get the O'Doyle banana peel reference, but not the Morris family one?

No reference, I just think they are the NBA family who most closely resemble the O'Doyle family.

Although if you are a mascot then it is the Lopez family.

A smarter and stronger Aminu makes the most sense, tbh. Same with SF, a better shooting Harkless or a better defending Crabbe would fit seamlessly.

We have the skillset, just not the overall talent. Who are better versions of Crabbe/Harkless and Aminu? Is there room for improvement with these dudes?

Isn't the price of a championship worth overpaying for? Portland is considered being a small market.

Just curious, how are we going to do that? I'm as hip to the idea as the next person as the potential of a player like Vonleh, but sometimes no amount of coaching or training will get that out. It's like Meyers, he reached a certain plateau with his Kim Hughes.... we fired Hughes and he went completely backward. He a lost case. Next. The Blazers are more likely to just draft another player with their few draft picks and kick Vonleh to the curb. Not everybody reaches their potential and NBA teams are more likely to pick the staff they want, regardless of what fans think.
