And we had Roy/Oden/Aldridge. Didn't mean we were title contenders... doesn't mean those 2 are going to be either.
You're right, I have idea the NBA works. Thank god Al Gore invented this interweb thing so I can look it up. Oh, lookie here, it says MIN has been in the lottery 13 straight years and about to be 14. So, that's your master plan? Suck for 14 years in a row with the hope that all those great lottery picks will eventually lead us to a .500 season? No thanks. I'll take our decade of 1st and 2nd round exits over 14 straight years of losing. BNM
Joel Embiid - 3 years, 31 games played Greg Oden - 3 years, 82 games played Ben Simmons - 1 year, 0 games played Brandon Roy - 1 year, 57 games played PHI has won nothing yet and there is no guarantee they will. Six lottery picks in four years and where has it gotten them? Right back into the lottery and their two best players are injury prone. Yeah, let's emulate that plan for "success". Trust The Process!!! BNM
No it won't. There will be the reality of what actually happens, and you will always be able to claim your "alternate" reality would have been better with no way to prove or disprove it. No matter what happens, you can always say, "my way would have been better". BNM
Holycrap that was just... i'm not even sure what to say to this. This is such an obvious troll that you didn't even attempt to hide the fact, its akin to the Twolves fans coming in and posting Oden Dick picks except that their trolling was more creative then this pile of gibberish.
So lets see if I got this right, you're upset because Olshey won't trade Lillard and CJ for draft picks?
I'm not sure how you can be negative about the team right now. I am one of the Blazers harshest critics, but I'm on board now that we have Nurkic. We're just a couple of pieces away from being an elite team in my opinion. They aren't pieces that are overly difficult to get either.
I understand the OP's frustration. It has been a frustrating season. The lack of defense has been frustrating all season; but it's even more frustrating that the coach and the worse offenders have never seemed to take responsibility for it and never seemed to make a real commitment to change it. The periods of stagnant offense which seems to rely on the two guards is frustrating. Again, neither the coaches or the players seems willing to acknowledge there is a problem or try to fix it. It was frustrating a couple games ago when Nurkic was playing with great passion and intensity and the rest of the team seemed to react by toning down their intensity. I did not understand that at all. It was frustrating after the loss two nights ago to hear the leader of the team focusing on the refs, instead of taking responsibility for blowing a 21 point lead. That's OK for fans to do that, but I don't think it's ok for the players. I don't agree with the OP if he is advocating tanking for years and getting draft picks; I think we have a lot of talent on the team and one more really good player could make us a contender. I have no problem, considering our present situation, with tanking this season, and hopefully using that lottery pick to get someone like that. But the bigger problem for me is the leadership of the team and the coaches. As I have said above, acknowledging some of the problems is the first step.
You know, you're right. That's why the Cavs won last year - Cleveland fans finally got their act together after 50 years.
