It may seem that way, but his AST% is 21.2%. Lillard's is 28.1%. Plumlee's was 21.3%.

Nurkic is a great and willing passer and that was a pleasant surprise, but he doesn't set up his teammates more than Dame and his TS% is lower than both Dame and C.J. Right now he's a GREAT 3rd option, something this team sorely lacked before the trade, but he still turns the ball over way too much (twice as much as Dame and C.J.) to run too much of the offense through him. I think what we're seeing now is a good mix, and that will likely gradually increase as he becomes more familiar with his teammates and our offensive sets, which will hopefully help him cut down on the turnovers.

I think the turnover and asst% will improve as he becomes more familiar with our offense and with his new teammates. It's pretty remarkable how well he has done in such a short time.

Yep, but for now, the TOV% > 20% is Sergio bad, at half the AST rate. It's the one glaring flaw in his game, but I also believe it's correctable.

Personally I'd like to see Nurk at 15FGA depending on the game.

Idk maybe I'm forgetting others but with his back to the basket I only remember his drop step.
What else does he got? Maybe I'll remember if memory is refreshed.
I might just be blinded by his passing so I don't remember his back to the basket moves.

Reminds me of Marc Gasol, before he and Memphis realized he should be the focal point of their offense.

Nurkic has a great future here, no doubt about it. At some point the honeymoon will wear off and he will become more vocal, probably asking to be a bigger part of the offense. I think that will be what we need for this team to take the next step. We are a MUCH better team than we were before the trade but we still are to heavily relying on our guards to win every game by chucking up shots even if they have shown that they are way above average at it.

What happens when he grows into our 1st or 2nd best player? He's not far off after how many games? Will Olshey trust the process or will he trade someone he maybe thought untradeable? We clearly need to adapt to Nurks strengths to add more of an inside presence to make it easier for our shooters to get more quality shots.

I hope we just grow together plus the new draft picks, but our options are far better than they were.

Up and under finishing with either hand and right handed jump hook, to name two.

I don't want him to be number one in shot attempts. But I do like ball movement and good things happen when he is part of that.

Yeah I'm not so much talking about shot attempts, per se, but about drawing the defense to him. More post ups, more pick and rolls, more give and gos, etc.

Watched a couple videos, and it does seem Nurk has a jump hook with either hand.
Up and under is a face-up move though, that while can be done on the block isn't limited to on the block catches.
Admit when I'm wrong, he has two moves on the block with his back to the basket. From the videos I watched of his time in Portland.

This exactly. He doesn't need to shoot more shots necessarily (though he should increase FGA over time). But everyone shoots a much higher percentage shot when they receive a pass from Nurk. If anyone has a way to look it up I'd be interested in knowing what the collective FG% is when Nurk passes to someone who takes a shot - seems like it's gotta be above 60%.

So he knows the pick/pop but not the weave?

He at least has a right hook that he has used many times. What makes him most effective going that direction is he also looks to pass on that move. Not so much on the drop step.
