:reading:BLAZERS' OFFICIAL GAME NOTES

• Tuesday marks the third of four regular season matchups between the Trail Blazers and the Spurs in 2016-17. The Spurs lead the season series 2-0.

• LAST MEETING: San Antonio defeated Portland, 110-94, in a game missed by Damian Lillard and Kawhi Leonard. Jonathon Simmons scored 19 points off the bench for the Spurs, while CJ McCollum scored 29 points to lead Portland.

• San Antonio is shooting 54.8% (23-of-42) from the three-point line against Portland this season.

• The Spurs defense has held Portland below 100 points in both previous games.

• CJ McCollum’s 29 points against the Spurs on Dec. 30 is his highest scoring total vs. San Anotonio. McCollum is averaging 21.4 in his last five games against the Spurs (20+ three times), after scoring just 27 total in his first six games.

• Damian Lillard has scored 20+ points in 13 of 15 career games against San Antonio. His 25.3 points per game scoring average against the Spurs is his fourth best against a single opponent.

• Meyers Leonard scored 16 points against the Spurs on Dec. 23. Leonard’s four three-pointers on seven attempts that game are tied for his season high.

HEAD-TO-HEAD HISTORY:
ALL TIME: Trail Spurs lead, 82-79
IN PORTLAND: Trail Blazers lead, 50-30
AT THE SPURS: Spurs lead, 52-29

Its tought to Watch. The blazers are so trash this year... Stotts... your job is done.

Feel better about this one going into it considering that we lost last nights game as poorly as we did. We will learn everything about the rest of our season in this game. Will the team come out trying to bounce back from the Pelicans loss. or will they come out unmotivated and flat?

- Blazers to run the P&R early and often against the spurs to get Nurk and the guards started
- Hark played 20 mins in the Pels game, I expect him to play 30+ , especially if the Spurs are playing Leonard
- This is a game where we should start Moe at 3 and Aminu at 4
- High potential for Nurk to get his first career triple double in this one. Dimes should be open with the way the Spurs will collapse their defense.
- Gotta switch Aminu/Moe on Kawhi so that they stay fresh enough to keep up with him without fouling.

(25-6 Home) Here is the prediction. I won't say how much but after our lowest score total of the season in NO, Denver in the drivers seat and an abysmal Blazers road record, the safe $ is on SA. We have to score to gain respect.

Maybe he's such a big fan he can't stand watching them lose? Still has to watch because he loves them so much

He said it's tough to watch. So, don't watch. Problem solved. Watching is voluntary. Nobody is forcing him to do it.

Maybe he has an adictive personality? Maybe he is more of a fan-addict than a fan-atic.

You shouldn't be so quick to judge people. As someone with an adiction problem, I understand the daily struggles of "having" to do something

Can Nurkic and Mase make the same passes as one another? Yes

Does one do it more efficiently? Yes

Therefor the better passer is? Mason Plumlee

I somewhat agree with this logic, but I gave the nod to Nurk because when he has the ball, he actually occupies at least one defender while waiting to pass. With Plumlee, all five would lay off him because they knew he wouldn't try to score. If you count turnovers, then Plumlee was more efficient. If you count how the passing impacts the offense, I give Nurkic the win.

Last night was embarrassing. I thought we would lose due to the matchups at C/PF, but not that bad.
Tonight I see us at least competing. Often playing a back to back can be a good thing, after getting embarrassed the night before. I see us losing, but it will be close in the 4th.

I think the Blazers come out and win this game.

If they do, it will greatly improve their odds of making the playoffs. All the simulations/predictions have us losing this game. FiveThirtyEight.com only gives us a 10% chance at winning this one.

Sounds like he's been dealing with this all season:

Popovich declined to delve into details regarding Aldridge's condition but said the forward has "dealt with this all year long, which nobody really knew about."

"Being a consummate pro, he was able to do everything that was necessary to bring this to some sort of conclusion, and that wasn't easy throughout the year," Popovich said. "He's gone through some procedures and had to do some things that are not pleasant, and he's shown a lot of class and a lot of fortitude in the way he's done it all."

What dumbass computer program designed this schedule? God this travel looks brutal.

Can't believe GS is complaining about their piddly ass travel issues. Portland has 2 teams in their division on a 3 + hr flight away.

Nice. Give the poor refs a break and blame the schedule maker.

Mason Plumee has the better hands I'll give him that, but Nurkic is a more versatile passer and is far better on the pick and pop

I smell a win tonight
