Close race this year, a few worthy candidates. Harden and Westbrook are really hard to call with what they've done. Hardens team more successful, Westbrook might break triple double record. Kawhi doing it on both ends for a very elite team who could end with the leagues best record. Lebron is Lebron Really tough call...
You could also argue that Lebron is having the best season of his career. Points are down but everything else is up.
We had this poll on a recent game thread tho http://www.sportstwo.com/threads/ga...-7-2017-tuesday-5-00-pm-pst-nbatv-kgw.310107/
Darkwebs is like the Simpsons and if you were to try and avoid doing things he has done then you would end up doing nothing. I thought the idea of a poll where you could change your opinion and discuss who you think the MVP is and why would be cool.
I'd give it to Kawhi. Winning matters and he gets it done at both ends for the floor. I think in LeBron's case he will get overlooked because it's just LeBron being LeBron. I think sometimes we forget how good he is. Also, as the defending champs, CLE has a target on their backs every night. Everybody gets up for the champs, yet they are still No. 1 in the East and likely headed back to the finals. I think Harden is a dark horse candidate. After going 41-41 last year, it's been quite the turnaround for them. Sure, they completely revamped their roster, but they revamped it with guys to compliment Harden and he's taken full advantage of that. Last year, HOU tied for 18th best record in the league, This year, they are 3rd best. Again, winning matters, and HOU is winning way more than anyone expected and Harden is the biggest reason. BNM
Interesting thing about Westbrook, I saw a video recently about his stats. Number one issue is that the stat people in OKC are padding his assist numbers. He averages something like 2 assists less on the road. Number two is that he benefits from the OKC bigs basically boxing out so he can get an unfettered rebound. They had good video evidence of this. He's getting a lot of help from his teammates and from the staff in OKC.
Absolute horse shit if true. Why wouldn't the league do something about it though? That's pretty tarnishing of the leagues image if that were going on and they allowed it to continue.
Wouldn't be the first time. People accused the stats guys in Utah of doing the same thing with Stockton.
Kawhi's best teammate is possibly Patty Mills. No one works with less than he does. I would vote thusly: 1. Kawhi 2. LeBron 3. Harden 4. Westbrook 5. Wall Honorable mention: Isaiah Thomas, Kevin Durant, Dame, Curry
Kawhi is my favorite non-Blazers player in the league, but I'd still give the MVP to LeBron. He's just so damned good.
LeBron, without him I don't know if Cleveland makes the playoffs honestly. They have talent but they're basically built to LeBron's strengths only.
