Moot point because he will go way ahead of where we will be drafting. But is the draft really for who will help next year? It seems our only chance of getting a high reward player is by projecting who will be great, not who is physically ready next year. Who in this draft will be better than Vonleh or Aminu? No one.

With FSU early exit I hope Isaac's stock drops. He is a guy who would look fucking great in a Blazer uniform.

I assume he specifically means front court players, and is only referring to next year, not over the course of their careers.

Burton from ISU is a good looking player. Built like a brick with a 7'0" wingspan

I was thinking the same. I was watching Swanigan (and Haas), but Burton definitely caught my eye. That drive and dunk of his with 7 1/2 minutes left...nasty!

Yes I am talking about PF's only. And how good they will be next year compared to Vonleh

I would take that bet. Hartenstein will be better than both. Unless we're talking about just next season.

Ha you were too quick for me. i was editing my post. Yes I am talking about next year only while a young prospect could be getting stronger in the weight room.

I'm don't think I really want another stretch 4 on this team. If prefer a PF that plays inside, is a tough rebounder and is there for pick and rolls....one that can dominate a small ball PF in the post. Vonleh might actually be that guy, I like portland's SL better with him in there than someone who stands around the 3pt line.

You don't want to have soft front court players with guards like Damian and CJ

Watching Leaf during this UCLA Cincinnati game, and I just can't get over how goofy he looks, on either end of the floor. I swear he was born 60 years too late.

Damn if Ball doesn't look like a taller, better-shooting Jason Kidd. Damn that the L*kers will coughwin the lottocough and take him so that Nike can pay Mr. Ball $1B for the next Magic, JV Magic and Freshman Team Magic.

I really hate to use this comparison.....and I am not insinuating he is even close to his skill level....but the kid reminds me of a young Bill Walton. The way he moves, his quick touch passes and his quick release, his passing , the form on his shot, how thin he is......again I am talking about a very very poor mans version, but it is almost like he watched all his film and tried to pattern his game after him. (except he plays further out from the basket)

To me, leaf seems like the kind of guy that does well in college but is nothing more than a decent reserve in the pros. A Josh McRoberts type.

Actually that is not that bad of a comparison. McRoberts had some very good years as a starter. Injuries hurt his career. But he was a great team player when he did play. Excellent passer and shooter. Health might be the factor for Leaf as well. I admit he looks fragile. But again we are projecting how he will look in 2 years.

Here is a prospect I think would be a good fit in Portland. Zach Collins. He plays with heart and toughness, which is something you really want out of a big man, he has a shooting touch and a touch around the basket. He's 7 foot 230 as a freshman and may grow even more. What do you think Fez?

Speaking of Collins...the guy he's backing up is a 7'1 300 pound 5th year senior Polish guy. He doesn't seem to be on the radar as far as the draft goes, but I'd like to see him in our summer league. Damian has really thrived having a big body to set screens for him.
