• Saturday marks the second of two regular season matchups between the Trail Blazers and the Heat in 2016-17. The Trail Blazers lead the season series 1-0.

• LAST MEETING: Portland defeated Miami, 99-92, at the Moda Center on Dec. 3. Damian Lillard scored 19 points to pace the Trail Blazers, while Hassan Whiteside registered 28 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Heat.

• The Trail Blazers have lost to the Heat the last four times the teams have played in Miami. The last time Portland swept Miami was the 2008-09 season.

• Damian Lillard is averaging 23.0 points and 6.3 assists over his last three games against the Heat. Lillard has scored 30 or more points against the Heat two times in nine career matchups.

• Maurice Harkless has reached double figures in two of his three games against the Heat as a Trail Blazer and is averaing 11.0 points on 13-of-22 shooting in those games.

• Hassan Whiteside has registered a double-double in his last four games against Portland, averaging 20.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 5.0 blocks in that span.

Catching another break with Dion Waiters out. Still 6 to 7 point dogs tonight according to Vegas. I like our chances as long as we don't let someone like Wayne Ellington have a career night. A win tonight and a 4/5 road trip would be huge. Denver's schedule: @ Hou tomorrow, then Cavs at home, then 6/7 games on the road . . . while we play 9 of our 12 final games at home. Let's go Blazers!

On the real, if the blazers can pull this out, I might feel compelled to update the wins prediction thread that im sure most of us would prefer remains in the archives. lol

Cosidering we just hit HALF of what I predicted, I wouldn't be opposed to deletion of the whole thread...
 
Whenever I talk about watching former Blazers play like Nico or Wes.....for some reason Babbitt never enters my mind
 
I want to change my predictions. Im a moron.

I heard the other day that Wade is out for the rest oft he season. I then thought. There goes Miami's hot streak. We should own them now.



Am I the only one really struggling to remind myself Wade is now a Bulls?
 
Following the Practice issues earlier this year established that in my mind, in addition to why I may not want Jimmy Butler on my team.
 
Something must not be right in the water in Chicago....lot of issues around that franchise as well as the inner city...the Bulls need new ownership and management.

Could be a tough game for Nurk tonight. Hard for me to predict this one, I think it can go either way. I also think Whiteside could be so focused on the guards in the P&R that Nurk could end up feasting tonight with nobody else to help with him.

-Run lots of PnR
-Find open man, take good looks and don't settle
-Keep Miami off the 3pt line
-Get wings involved
-Keep Whiteside off the boards
 
I'm not expecting much from this game. Heat are playing extremely well right now. We're on the second of a back to back. I'm very happy with a 3-2 road trip.
