I've been noticing some new usernames logged onto the site that have yet to post here and several have a European type username....just wanted to welcome Nurk's Bosnian and European fans to the forum and let you all know second language English is fine around here....don't be shy about language ability! I'm thrilled to have Nurkic add to the Blazer legacy of players like Drazen Petrovic and Arvydas Sabonis.

Nurk is young enough he has a very real chance of passing both of those guys and becoming the best Eastern European Blazer ever!!!

Someone over in Bosnia, needs ot start a Bosnian Blazers club and post pics of get togethers and such. I would love to hear/read about how you guys feel and celebrate your beast we are gracious that you have lent us!!!:)

Um, isn't he the only Bosnian to play for the Blazers?

The maps have changed since Petrovic and Sabonis played here but I believe Drazen was Croatian...Sabo is Lithuanian....when Drazen played I believe Bosnia and Croatia were included in Yugoslavia. The point of this thread was to welcome European fans of Nurk who now follow the Blazers.

I don't think Lithuania was part of Yugoslavia, or Bosnia.

I didn't Lithuania was....at the time of Sabonis...it was the USSR....Bosnia was part of Yugoslavia though...I don't see a need to argue though as this is a welcome thread and I'm sure the folks I targeted to welcome know the local geography better than I do.

Wasn't arguing (especially wasn't arguing with you). I was pointing out that to say he's the "best Bosnian Blazer" ever doesnt mean much, especially when you compare him to a guy who wasn't from Bosnia (Sabonis) and another who wasn't from Bosnia/Herzegovina (Petro).

the sun is shining, birds are singing and my right knee is no longer swollen, so yes. Better now. ;)

Wow, One edit, and I am a man of many talents it appears!!!
Im still not sure how I got the sun to shine though...

I love Nurk but if Drazen had lived longer, he's probably the best European player to ever enter the NBA in my opinion...he scared Michael Jordan....we should have never traded that dude. Never saw a better shooter unless it was Pistol Pete and Drazen might have bested him ...he was really, really special.

Seeing the team with Jusuf anchoring the post is game changing...last year's playoff run was a surprise...if we do it this year, a lot of teams are not going to want to see us in the first round. He gave us an identity again...things are looking up for Blazer fans
