given the recent success of our team and the great leaps and bounds that our team has taken , Sam Mitchell is showing that he deserves an extension. whats more interesting about him is how he has been there to guide the development of two superstars in KG and bosh, kg has accredited him with showing him the ropes and teaching him how to be a pro. I don't think its any coincidence that bosh is walking in the same footsteps. however now we have another rookie that could one day become a superstar in bargnani . given Mitchell's success in developing kg and bosh , I think giving him a few more years with bargnani could produce us another superstar. hes very good with motivation and relating to the players, as he was one , and has the ear and respect of those who play for him . why jeopardize this for another unproven rookie coach when ours is having so much success? go sam!!

Sam did spend quite a few years in the Minni organization. I agree with your points though, and I have always been fond of Sam's attitude, 'Play hard, or go home'. He isnt your typical championship coach, but he is on the road to it. I believe if he consists, maybe because will keep him. CB4 is going to say he is not in our plans in the future, but there is a possibility. I think Sam deserves some credit towards the Raptors sucess, he took a waste of height in Bargnani and turned him into a ROY contender. He has had sucess with rookies, with the exception of the Brazillian Bozo, Rafael 'Brick' Araujo, and he has aided Joey Graham in developing into a decent role player.

I would say sign him to an extension, were doing really good this year and Colangelo just cant shut the door on Michtell when the teams doing so good.

Funny how Raptors fans have an entirely different opinion on him when the team is above .500. If I remember correctly, people were calling him the worst coach in the league in November (including CB4).

I still don't think he is a very good coach, but whatever....He is not a good coach, he's just a motivator. And that is working for him right now, because the guys are playing well.

Chris Bosh likes Sam Mitchell because he is always honest with him and tells him how it is. Sam has a great relationship with his players and staff. So at this point what is the point of firing him? He must be doing something right to pull 9 new guys together and go from 27-55 to 29-24 half way through a season lol.

He's not getting fired. He'll get extended. He might have been a good coach all this time. The players you have make such a huge difference.

Sam Mitchell is awesome. He hasa great relationship with the players and their is no need for a new coach. They should keep Sam. He's doing awesome.

Yeah and he did kindof take over the coaching duties when the Raptors started the rebuilding process so winning games was alot harder a couple years back then it is now. I still think we could benefit a little more with another coach but so far hes proven all of us wrong and deserves to get a contract extension, I would say like 2 years.

Ya, Mitchell should be traded. Pointless to fire another coach again, but this time after 2 years then 1 year. And he's doing a great job with the team right now and everyone likes him. He is the reason why the Raptors are also successful, not just because of because and Bosh. He also has a great relationship with Colangelo as well, so I doubt he'll fire him since Colangelo tells Mitchell everything.

A lot of people were like that including me and many other Raptors Fans out there. It's the coach's duty to make the team successful and it's just not the coach to say to the players hey just go out there and play. And since the Raptors were struggling, people started to blame this on Mitchell until we started to win. I also read in the newspaper one day that when because was 1st hired he wanted to fire Sam Mitchell because he didn't really like him. But then as the season went on they are now best friends. So I'm thinking that colangelo was also with us in firing Mithcell cause of the way we were losing last season.
