Seems odd, but it seems like people who like basketball, generally don't like NASCAR. (Save Brad Daugherty) Am I a loner nascar fan here? :no1:
Yep Nascar is the worst sport it's so boring I mean the only fun parts to watch are the crashes and the end of the race if it is close.

I don't understand how people don't think Nascar is a sport. People don't get killed playing poker. The room where the spelling bee is doesn't heat up to 150 degrees, plus the padding. Playing poker you are not driving at 200 mph, all while trying not to crash and possibly kill yourself. You aren't driving with a bunch of G's spelling radioisotope. You don't lose 20% of your body weight in water going all in.You have to have tons of endurance to race for 4 hours straight in a car with blazing hot temperatures and the constant mental strain of thinking about how to seal the person behind you off, or whether to go low or stay high.Do you guys consider dirt biking a sport? Snowmobiling?
I'm sure that redneck guy that posts in the off-topic debates board is a fan. Yep, redneck should be a fan. I don't consider a sport. Sports are athletics, athletics have athletes and Nascar has none.
I'm not going to get into an arguement on wether its a sport or not, but I'd say that NASCAR is more of a southern sport just like hockey is a northern sport. They just dont translate to some people do to where they are located. I'm from Texas and know a lot of people who watch it, but I would rather not.

Physically active and strong-How many fat Nascar drivers do you see? None? Thought so.Physical skills or capabilities-Agility and stamina in Nascar. Strong build, well-proportioned body structure-So Tayshaun Prince and David Wells aren't atheletes?

There may be some usage of the triceps area and they may run away if their car is on fire but that's it. Agility and stamina for their cars more than the actual racers, although I know it's not easy. Nothing worth doing is really easy. Riding horses isn't easy. Darts is challenging. Ping Pong is challenging. Arm wrestling is challenging. Pie eating contests are challenging and require endurance and agility. Statistics class is challenging. It has nothing to do with racing cars being tough or not. It's just not a sport.
Tayshaun might be skinny for NBA standards but he's probably a pretty strong guy, just doesn't put on weight. And David Wells is in MLB because he had an amazing arm, but generally most MLB fielders are good athletes.

ENDURANCE IS A PHYSICAL SKILL!Brad Daugherty was sure in enough shape for another sport.Dirt bikers only use their arms. Snowboarders only use their legs. Surfers only use their legs. Snowmobilers only use their arms. Do you consider any of the above sports? How many times do I have to say this? It takes tons of endurance to go 4 straight hours in a 150 degree car while having to worry about not crashing and keeping your position. You have to be agile with your arms to avoid a split second crash.Alright, but you said it yourself, in order to be an athlete you have to have a huge body. Prince and Wells don't fall under that. (Wells is fat, not strong)
I didn't say you have to have a huge body, but real athletes are stronger and more well built than most drivers I think. Snowboarders and surfers actually use their body more. Again, I know that driving can be tough, but it just requires very little physical activity. It's mostly relying on your car. I know you need skill for it to avoid crashing, but a lot of non-sports activities require skill also. In order to be an athlete you actually have to use your body imo.
I dislike NASCAR and don't watch it. It's a big deal in our town where we carry the races at Dover Downs Speedway. It's insane on those weekends and ruins traffic with ignorant drivers. But back to the sport(and no argument here in not being a sport because it is), I just don't see how people can sit there and watch cars drive in circles. That's boring. And the bit of excitement you get out of it is crashes. Pretty bad when your supposed to have the opposite of an reaction.
