He asked the question. Hows that my fault?

Reminds me of a great joke. This guy goes to a psychiatrist cause he's up for murder charges and the psychiatrist says take a look at these inkblots and tell me what you see. He shows him the first one and the guy says it looks like somebody trying to hack a bunch of people up at an office party. The psychiatrist says that's interesting. So he shows the next photo and the guy says looks like somebody at a concert cutting up people into little pieces and putting them in duffle bags. The psychiatrist says man you're really messed up. And the guy says hey don't blame me. They're your pictures.

Not going to blast you, but agree with your idea of trading down.

Three first round picks = three guaranteed contracts. I would not have a problem with trading at least one of our first round picks back into the second.

I have given up on which players to draft. I believe this entire class is a crap shoot. I would rather trade down and pay less salary. At least if some of our picks are second round picks, we can dump them for the roster spot.

My first choice is to trade our picks, (and players not named Dame, CJ, Nurkic, or Vonley), for another starting caliber player ready to play now.

Assuming we keep all three picks, where they are....which I don't see happening, I like.....right now....Bam Adebayo, Justin Jackson, Jordan Bell

I think Bam reminds me of Shawn Kemp.

Jackson won ACC player of the year at UNC, so his bball IQ has got to be off the charts.

Bell is all energy and defense, all the time.

I love Bell and would totally be all for us drafting him with one of our later picks.

I'm a Bam fan too. I'm not sold on Jackson.

What's wrong with Jackson? When I watch him he has an NBA players flow (or movements, he just looks smooth). His offensive game reminds me a bit of Kawhi.

He reminds me of Damion James from Texas a few years back.

I can see that, but I remember him being a bit thicker than Jackson and more of a 3/4 tweener skill set.

You know how some guys you could just picture in a Blazers uniform? Not something that can really be explained, but I can totally picture Ferguson as a blazer.

I feel that way about Justin Jackson, he just looks like a Blazer. I wouldn't be against Fergilicious if he slipped to the Memphis pick, in fact I'd support the hell out of it.

Yeah even before the announcers compared Justin Jackson to Rip Hamilton today, I was thinking the same. I am sure I was not the only one. His stats were not spectacular, but I like his game. Although I doubt I will like it much next Saturday.

Yes, at least we can get a player that has at least one year of history of being able to get on the court. I hate to even think of the Blazer's history with high draft picks. I really don't want to be sucked into looking forward to that one more time. There are some, backside advantages to finishing 8th.

    MY IDEAL DRAFT:
*All these picks are based on who DraftExpress thinks would be available at each spot.

Trade 15th, 20th to Sacremento for the 9th pick

    - Sacremento needs as much talent as they can get. Prime trade up spot.

With the 9th Pick, Draft Jonathan Isaac, 6'11 SF, Florida State
At 6'11 with a 9'1 standing reach and guard skills, Isaac might have the highest potential in the draft. He could slot in as our SF of the future.

But I'd rather try to bulk him up and play him at PF. Due to his length, he could easily handle the position with added bulk, as well as be a matchup nightmare offensively, and a versatile defender who could potentially guard 1 through 5.

Trade Shabazz Napier, 26th Pick, 2019 LAL/MIN 2nd Round Pick, Cash to Philadelphia for 36th Pick, 45th Pick, 48th Pick
With one, potentially two lottery picks as well as four 2nd round picks, it's likely that Philadelphia will consolidate some of those 2nd rounders for a 1st. Might take another 2nd Round Pick, but this would be a great trade to try to hit on a 2nd round gem.

With the 36th Pick, Draft Jordan Bell, 6'9 PF, Oregon
Bell would be good value at this pick as a Faried type hustle player, and could be an instant contributor.

With the 45 Pick, Draft Omer Yurtseven, 6'11 C, NC State
As a foreigner, this could be a guy you could stash overseas even though he played college ball in America. That holds some value because bringing in 4 rookies is a bit much. Has some shooting potential, and is a mobile big man. Could be a top back up center in a few years.

With the 48th Pick, Draft Sindarius Thornwell, 6'6 SG, South Carolina
This dude just looks like the 2nd coming of Wesley Matthews. A great defender with good size for a SG (6'9 Wingspan) that could play both wing spots. Could be this years Malcolm Brogdon (under-drafted 3 and D senior).

So in the end, we'd come away with
    SF Jonathan Isaac
    PF Jordan Bell
    C Omer Yurtseven
    SG Sindarius Thornwell

That would be a tremendous draft, and would give us depth and potential all around.

I don't get 'trade all the picks' attitude at all. We are barely managing to pay all our players under current salary cap, have great opportunity to get THREE cheap contracts in, and at the same time three players we will have no problem keeping for 8 years if we want it, and some people would just like to send all three picks somewhere for an average player. This makes literally zero sense. I want us to draft at least two players and won't be disappointed if we get all three. This draft class looks really solid. You could build something good with it. But no, trade those picks for Thad Young and then see someone draft another Myles Turner with one of them. But at least we will get 5 more wins next season and not have to go through all the hassle of developing three players.

Harry Giles is going pro, any interest in him him if he falls to our 2nd or 3rd pick? I remember Dejuan Blair being pretty good after falling in the draft for a few years.

I would not be happy if we used our top two picks to get Isaac, I do not think he is one of the best players in the draft this year which means we would be better off using those two picks on two separate players of comparable skill level.

I'd rather see what PHX/orl/phi want for the 3/4/5

And if we end up with a second round pick then I'd hope we'd take a look at Kadeem Allen.

Why cant we package our picks into a trade to get a better pick and instead of three bench players, we get one solid starter? Contract will be almost the same.

I want to move up in this draft because I think if you know what you are doing with pick 1-7 you can just about guarantee you are drafting an impact maker in this league.

While there are a lot of talented players, ultimately most of these guys will still be role players in this league. So while I'm sure some offices will F up as they always do and we will see stars taken later in this draft because teams like the Lakers can't get over the Lonzo Ball hype. When really Dennis Smith is the more NBA ready guard with less flaws in his game to be exposed at the next level. Lonzo Ball on the other hand will have a rough transition.

I want to be the team to take advantage of other teams mistakes because I do believe there are a few players with legit potential in this draft.
