Good news guys...NBA RUMOR MILL - Kidd Is A Laker?<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Kidd To Lakers Done? : The Buzz after the Nets loss tonight, has everyone believing Jason Kidd is being traded to the Lakers. Kidd basically told media that he enjoyed his time in New Jersey and fully expects to be traded by the 3pm trade deadline. It?s not clear which side budged on the deal, but informed sources believe Brian Cook, Kwame Brown and Jordan Farmar are coming to New Jersey. The deal is not expected to be announced until tomorrow.</div>http://www.hoopsworld.com/article_20926.shtmlI'm excited were getting Kidd. I am more excited we are getting rid of Cook!

Well, if this is true I am very upset since I live in NJ and am a nets fan. kidd played hard in all of his years in NJ and made us contenders. I thank him so much for what he has done.I hope he does great with you guys and wins a title. Kidd deserves a title, Kobe deserves another one to solidify his stance as a top 10 player all time, and it'd be cool to see both of Phil's hands covered in rings!

Being that it comes from hoopsworld I would take it for whatever its worth as they don't have a good history on calling these types of rumors. Assuming that this does go down and Brown is involved what would the Lakers do to solve the interior defensive problems that will arise from his departure? That would basically leave them with Bynum and Turiaf to defend the likes of Duncan, Stoudemire, Boozer or Ming once the playoffs begin.

I find it funny, rumors flying high saying he is gonna be traded, but some of the greats on NBA TV, etc. Say Kidd wont be leaving.I also believe Kidd wont be leaving, Carter, maybe, but Kidd? Na, Sorry to bring ya down or anything, but I just don't see it happing.

Personally I don't think this is true. If the Nets are giving up anyone it's going to be VC.

Being that it's hoopsworld, we can't really be sure until later today. I remember last year when Hoopsworld said that Carlos Boozer was going to be a Laker and it never happend so we'll just have to wait and see. If this is the deal I'll be sad to see Farmar go but will welcome this deal with open arms. We are struggling big time right now and need help.

That would be an absolutely terrible trade for New Jersey. I don't believe this, because I heard Rod Thorn say that they would only trade with the Lakers if they got Andrew Bynum in return. Are you kidding me? Giving up[ your star PG and triple double machine for this crap? What in the hell is the point of that? None of those players have very high ceilings. They'd just be role players for New Jersey.

I doubt the Lakers would give up Kwame Brown.

Bynum is clearly their future big man, and if they would have the chance to land a great PG like Kidd, why the hell wouldnt they? He would obviously help this team become a top 4 or 5 team in the west at the very worst. They are a pretty good team right now, and Kidd is one of the best fits that the Lakers could possibly imagine. He would definitely help out Kobe, Bynum, Lamar, and the rest of the team. Also, Kwame has had some injury problems over the years, and he has been very inconsistent as well. Although I think they would want to keep him, if they could get Kidd, they are going to jump on it. Especially if they dont have to give up Bynum....

His strength and interior defense is the glue that keeps this team together. His absense is why the Lakers defense and rebounding have been sh*t lately...among other things.

I don't think this is true, cause the TV told me that Nets decided to keep Jkidd and VC and Cleveland so far are the best contenders for Pippen.

Apparently the Lakers were NEVER shopping Bynum or Odom. This was just a rumor built up by a bunch of internet forums.

I would have said the same thing if I was the Nets. No Kidd unless Bynum is involved. Now, I definitely don't blame the Lakers for not doing it (I wouldn't have either), but I really can't see much that would work in the Nets favor without involving Bynum.
