It makes absolutely no sense to me. First of all, you trade 1 of the 3 bigs you actually have in your rotation. Then you trade a good defender and a good shooter in Bell along with a potential top 5 pick in this draft (which could land Phoenix a good big man, which they need). Now, I know Kidd is a good defender as well, but having the top 2 point guards in the league on the same team makes no sense to me. A Nash/Kidd backcourt? How would that even work? Kidd isn't a very good shooter, would Nash still bring the ball up every time, Nash would need to shoot a little more, etc. Too many questions. Also, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Phoenix is a top 3 team in the NBA, why mess up what you have just to look better on paper? This is stupid for Phoenix, IMO. EDIT: Topics merged.
yeah I have no idea why phoenix would do this. kidd and nash cant both bring the ball up court. and if kidd doesn't have the ball on the break hes pretty much useless since he isnt really that much of a shooter. also giving up raja bell? thats just stupid
It seems like everytime the Lakers are on the move to get a player the Suns try to step in and take him away. Like Marcus Banks for example. I hope the Suns don't get this trade if they really are doing this because they already have Nash, Barbosa and Banks. What are they going to do Two guard Nash and Kidd? Come on.
The Suns won't get him... I think they're just trying to screw the Lakers over by trying to drive the price up for Kidd. That way the Nets would insist even more on the Lakers throwing in Bynum, and then when the Lakers refuse to do that, Kidd is still a Net. Suns win.And it would be interesting to see a Nash and Kidd combination in PHX though, especially if Kidd agrees to back up Nash. That way Nash and Kidd could each play about 30 minutes a night and stay healthy for the postseason. Not saying it's going to happen, but that would be the ideal situation for PHX if this trade does happen... which it won't.
Man, they weren't gonna do that. It was just to distract. No way we'd trade Bell and our precious first.
Actually it would have been kind of interesting to see Kidd back in PHX as an off guard. He would have no pressure at all, he would have put up some career scoring nights.

You don't hate him because you don't know him. The proper thing to say is your not a fan of Jason Kidd. I don't understand why it's so hard to just say that...
dagame I think he meant to say Personally, I hate Jason kidd. As in, my opinion, I don't like him. He should have said In my opinion. I know I sound like a grammar teacher but I kinda caught that confusion. I don't think he meant he had a personaly vendetta against him.
