Re: R.I.P Dennis Johnson! The Dan Patrick show is reporting that Dennis Johnson, former guard for the Boston Celtics , has passed away. Johnson was briefly the head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers in 2002 and had been the head coach of the Austin Toros of the NBA Development League.http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/448...ses_away_at_52/
Re: R.I.P Dennis Johnson! He died? Damn....He wasnt even that old. R.I.P. He was an excellent defensive player, and also a great offensive player. RIP DJ
Re: R.I.P Dennis Johnson! Oh my god! :cry2: Just 52 years old, that is terrible. Such a good person, such a driven individual. Great player, he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. I'm just shocked at this... first Red, now DJ. Tragedies.Does anyone know what it was? Was it a heart attack? I read that he collapsed during practice, but what exactly happened?<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (yankshater213 @ Feb 22 2007, 05:58 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43DrapEn5QADJ's finest moment?</div>Definitely.
Re: R.I.P Dennis Johnson! RIP Dennis Johnson. I didnt know much but I only knew he hit that layup off of Bird's steal
Re: R.I.P Dennis Johnson! This guy was a hard-nosed defensive player, and should definitely be in the HOF.R.I.P. DJ
Re: R.I.P Dennis Johnson! RIP Dennis Johnson, the second best Point guard in Boston Celtic history (That's saying something)Surprised that he wasn't picked in the all era mock. He'll make the hall.
Re: R.I.P Dennis Johnson! Dennis Johnson was one of the best perimeter defenders of all time. The Boston Celtics made the trade to bring Johnson in Boston just to guard Andrew Toney in the playoffs. This was a huge blow to any NBA fan, he died so randomly.RIP, Dennis Johnson.
Re: R.I.P Dennis Johnson! Man he died at his team's practice. I wonder how the players felt to watch him collape with a heart attack
Re: R.I.P Dennis Johnson! He was on the Suns too so maybe this should be in NBA General if it isn't already... I heard he was a good player. My dad met him at the mall when he used to play here and judging from what I heard, he just didn't stay in shape. After you retire as an athlete, it's tough on your body if you don't stay in shape. I heard he got pretty fat.
Re: R.I.P Dennis Johnson! yeah move this to general NBA...I just wasn't sure if he was recognized outside of Celtics/Sonics fans...and his most famous play was with the Celtics so thats why I posted it here as well

That's what happens when you get old and DJ didn't even get that fat. He had a history of heart problems in his family genes and that's probably what did it. It's not like he was playing 40 minutes a night at the age of 52. Show some respect dude.
