I was supposed to party with the Bella twins in Vegas for their going away party before they left for the WWE. Our secretary was friends with them and we had a table at Tao reserved for a bachelor party where they were but my dumbass friends wanted to hit up a strip club instead.
Never watched wrestlemania but it always seemed like it was a member berry trip down memory lane for wrestling fans
UT/RR Taker missed some spots and looked old, slow, and fat. Probably a good time for him to step away. Wrestlers, like fighters, don't ever really retire, so I imagine he'll get bored and we'll see him back in the ring after about a year or so. RR's push to the moon continues. Three straight WM main events, three straight tepid if not outright hostile reactions from the crowd. It wasn't the right time last night to have him turn given the spotlight was really on Taker. But this is all Vince. Goldy/Lesnar Goldberg couldn't go very long so this is the kind of match everyone was expecting. Was having the belt on the line in any way necessary? Not sure whey they had to peel it off of Owens after a successful run for this one-off match. More Vince. Still, the match was about as good as it could've been, so kudos to both. Rollins/HHH HHH puts over young talent in a match that lacked consequence. Steph took a bump but meh. She'll be back to burying everyone tomorrow. The match itself was decent. Orton/Wyatt Not sure why Orton won this match. The graphics were a nice touch. Match was average. Both women's matches You know when they pile people into fatal four-, five-, six-way matches they have no plan. Everyone gets their shit in and the match ends. I didn't see the first one but I saw the second one. Spot, roll out of ring, wait for spot, get back in, spot, roll out, repeat. Ugly stuff. Cena/Bella vs. Miz/Maryse Al Roker got booed out of the building. But they'll talk about WM on GMA so that was the point. Nothing match. Proposal afterward. Remember when Cena banged Micky James and broke up her engagement? He's such a romantic. Shane/AJ 50-50 booking with AJ, your top talent, vs. Shane McMahon, the 40-something millionaire who's had like two matches in the last fifteen years. Waste. Imagine an AJ/Nakamura rematch or AJ/Seth Rollins instead of what they put out. Shane's punches suck. AJ still managed to get something out of this. Jericho/Owens For the title, just not "the" title. Jericho is leaving to tour with his band, IIRC. US Title run for KO? Bit of a downgrade for him. The match was good but a little blood might've gone a long way to getting over how intense the feud is meant to be. KO's laceration did look good for hard way. Ambrose/Corbin By the end of the night did anyone even remember this match? It was good. Corbin spent a lot of time in development and has come up at the right time. He is getting over and the lone wolf gimmick is perfect. Ambrose worked about a billion matches over the last three or five years and is entering Dolph Ziggler territory. Ladder Match Strange that Jeff was always the bigger star but Matt is more over right now with his TNA gimmick. Goes to show that wrestling fans watch more than just the WWE as his pop and following chants were deafening. Now the WWE gets to run the Broken gimmick into the ground. Hopefully the Boyz won't be taking those kinds of bumps because they'll be back on the booze and pills before long. Let them be characters first. Aries/Neville Didn't see it. ARMBAR Happened.
Didn't like the taker/reigns match. I might be a little jaded, simply because as a child taker was my fav and you hate to see your childhood heros lose. Lesnar vs Goldberg - Knew Lesnar was going to win. Surprised they even gave Goldberg the title. But KO was very much out shined during his title run in almost every aspect by Jericho. So it's understanding they took the title away from KO. Worst thing that could have happened to KO was Jericho. Women's matches were okay I guess. I just wish they were held to the same standard as the male wrestlers are in terms of ring technique. The mixed tag match was dumb as fuck. I like Cena, and Miz. But literally was the dumbest shit ever. Don't watch cruiserweights. Didn't watch Gronk appear, the mini video I saw was stupid as hell. Didn't watch Corbin/Ambrose as I don't find Corbin believable at all. Cool to see hardys, lets hope Vince/writers don't ruin them. Orton/Bray - this match was boring and put you to sleep. AJ vs Shane was better than expected. As it wasn't just about Shane's "daredevil" antics. Might have been the match of the night. Rollin's vs HHH was okay, but too gimmick. Rollin's has needed a new finisher for quite awhile. Steph needs to be more like her father/brother and stop appearing on TV. As her character has zero credibility so long as she insists on doing all the stuff she does outside the ring. She's a pretty nice lady, and everyone knows it. Being a bitch on TV doesn't work for anyone with half a brain. Overall this was a weak Wrestlemania. Just like I thought it would be when you looked at the card. Glad I didn't have to pay to watch it.
