    There would be an extra 170-180 playoff games each year.

    This is an extra 12-13 games per lottery team. These games (I'm guessing) earn the league at least three times as much as the revenue earned from a lottery team.

    So with the league still having the about the same amount of games played, with 170-180 games or so earning around three times as much money, the lottery teams would be compensated via the league revenue sharing system, thus, they would still make as much money as before. Without the expenses of putting on an extra 14 games, they'd make more.
