I'm not so sure it's way better than Crabbe until the 16th of march. After that he went on a consistent tear. CP3 came back the 24th of Feb. But Redick does more than just shoot 3's. Where Crabbe although he has the ability to do more, he doesn't very often.
I didn't even click the spoiler tag until after my post. Just comparing lists it was obviously better.
It will be interesting to see what kind of offers Redick gets this summer. Sure, he has the benefit of playing with CP3, but for the last three years, he's been a starter on a 50+ win team. He averages 50% more ppg than Crabbe while playing similar minutes. He's better than Crabbe and has been doing it for longer. This will be his 3rd year in a row with 3FG% above .430, including leading the league last year at .475. After one year at .393 3FG%, Crabbe got $18.5 million a year. But, age will hurt Redick. He's pushing 33 and is almost 9 years older than Crabbe. BNM
Clippers aren't winning a ring with Griffin, so I guess Redick's payday is going to be determined by his desire to chase a ring. Contenders will go out of their way to sign a player like Redick if he's willing to take less $$. I agree with you Redick has benefited from CP3. But he's also benefited from Howard & DJ setting giant screens for him. I don't think it's a coincidence he shot a career low 36% from three the year after Howard left Orlando. Granted he was traded, and shot better in Orlando than he did with the Bucks. But the difference between a contested look and an open look for players like Redick is a screen. I'd find it comical if the Nets maxed Redick this off season.
"White Chocolate" had no defense outside of the occasional steal. 75% of those points Delk scored where against Jason Williams.
But remember, the correlation between Allen Crabbe and our success isn't makes nearly as much as it's takes. Who cares if he's streaky? If he's shooting at all, that means our offense is working as designed.
How so? Crabbe scored 25 points on 8-10 3FG without making a single 2-pointer (0-2). In Delk's 53-point game he didn't make a single 3-pointer (0-1). If you watch the video, you'll see he did all his scoring on drives and short to mid range jumpers. The two games could not be more different. Edit: Oops my bad. I just realized BGD was quoting a post that is nearly 3 month old. Still Crabbe was 5-5 from 3-point range in that game, compared to Delk's zero made 3-pointers in his 53-point game. BNM
It wasn't a comparison of how they scored, it was a comparison of out-of-nowhere explosions that signified nothing.
In that case, the Martell Webster 24-point 3rd quarter against UTA, as mentioned in the game thread last night, definitely applies. BNM
Yeah, but he's still no Martell Webster. Webster scored 24 points in a quarter. Crabbe had a measly 13 in the 4th quarter last night. BNM
Imagine a player on your team going off, and your first instinct is to come on a message board and double down on your hot takes and cherry picked stats. Crabbe is an elite shooter. Get over it. Enjoy it. Appreciate it.
One of the differences in low keyed AC's success last night is that Dame made a point to get him the ball instead of chuck 3's on a cold shooting night....not so long ago Dame and CJ would chuck quite a bit even if they were cold....AC didn't get touches and is too shy to demand the ball..Dame's assists are up and his rebounds...he's defensively trying to become a well rounded player who can still go off for 30 anytime
Correlation or coincidence? You can make the same correlation for games in which Meyers has at least 9 FGA. In those games we're 6-3. If only we let Meyers shoot more, we'd be on track to win 55 games. BNM
Who would you rather keep and build around long term, Crabbe or Nurkic. Think you can keep both, plus Dame and C.J.? Do the math. I'm all for Crabbe having nights like he did last night. It increases his trade value to the point where we might not need to pay someone to take his contract off our hands. BNM
