What in the God's name is happening!?! The end is near! I assume you guys have posters of these people up all over the basement? http://mashable.com/2017/04/10/esports-by-the-numbers/?utm_cid=mash-com-Tw-main-link#9E.ZO3mZXOqz
And this isn't OT, this is YOUR lives we are talking about. The inter workings of your day to day geekdom!
Who knew you could make so much money NOT having any people skills or having any contact with the opposite sex WHATSOEVER! 98.7% of you are doing this for FREE!
Obviously, there is some big money at stake. Look at the sponsorship logos everywhere. It's like a NASCAR driver crashed through the front door of a GameStop. BNM
The only e-sports I pay attention to is Rocket League. But that's cuz I play and those dudes do some cool shit. League of Legends and shit like that is just nerdy.
I make $75,000 per year reading novels at home, and you can too. Just send $50 for this free book telling you how, to this address:
https://pvplive.net/c/fnatic-announces-7m-funding-round-celtics-astros Kyle Long streams on Twitch. Along with a former raiders DT. Fonz already posted Hayward's vid.
The money is in streaming. That's where these guys get their cash. Or winning tournaments. It's just like anything else..... if you have a skill that people are willing to pay to watch, you'll make money. No different than football, basketball, acting, singing, etc.
A nerd named Paul Allen owns two professional sports teams and owns part of at least one more. And pays HCP's paycheck (for some unknown reason).
A lot of people aren't understanding just how big gaming is these days and how much money is involved now which is why you see turner sports making deals and these other huge corporations. Twitch is huge. Youtube is huge. This is the next big thing that will be broadcasted like some of your favorite sports these days. We are talking big fucking arenas.
The day guys like that can pull top shelf models for playing games like Alien Isolation.... nobody will ever put 10000 hours into dribbling a basketball again. Fame, pussy and money are the major reasons a young poor boy does anything worthwhile.
People that play just regular games, not even competitive games stream on Twitch and get hundreds to tens of thousands of viewers every time they stream. These people have patreon accounts where their fans pay them money, as well as getting paid by Twitch from ads. If you can get popular enough, this can be a full time gig. I wish I was more interesting, this job would be interesting if I could take streaming games for 8 hours at a time.
