Do you guys realize what an aggressive and shooting first Kobe early on does for the rest of the teams moral? Just look at the game tonight against the Celtics. Screw the 'facilitator' bullcrap, that's why we have Luke and Lamar. Kobe is the best player in the NBA and people tend to forget that when he is the facilitator and doesn't shoot as much. Kobe proved tonight that when he wants to, he is the best player in the game. IMO with Kobe being overly aggressive early on and then dishing off to high moral teammates the rest of the game while still scoring when he needs to is EXACTLY what we need. Now, granted Kobe might not be this determined EVERY game but he is still Kobe. I have to say this looks like the formula for success. Not only does it help the rest of the team play with high confidence but the opposing team can get discouraged from it. With this strategy Kobe finished with 38 points and 9 assists to go along with 5 steals through 3 quarters. To me anyway, this seems like the obvious technique.
This iniator buisness is killing Kobe as an individual player. He needs to be closer to the rim, in attack positions. Lamar odom has failed to take the load off kobe so kobe has to do everything on his own.Man, that jason kidd trade would've been awesome.
