Both Aminu and Harkess rebounded very poorly today. Harkless in particular was slow to balls. 3 rebounds in 35 minutes was an issue for sure.

We've played better with Aminu than without. He had a bad game today but he has been shooting well the second half of the season.

Aminu has to take the open 3s with confidence when they are there. The Warriors are sagging off of him and daring him to shoot like teams did last year. Occasionally his wild ass drives after a pump fake produce a basket, but not when the team you're playing against is giving you the open shot and waiting for you to drive. They aren't going to bite on the pump fake. He's going to have to make them pay from 3 a few times and then that pump fake and drive will be there, but he was just fucking us over every time he passed up an open 3 and tried to force a drive into opponents who were waiting for him. He'd have been more effective passing to someone else and then looking to crash the boards.

I've been done with Aminu since last season. I don't get all the "good defender" gibberish, he's not that good on D. His offense is average at best and I think his ridiculous shooting form is largely to blame. Trade, please.

I can top that. I was not at all enthused about the signing in the first place.

Maybe it's the low bbiq, but he reminds me of Travis Outlaw with some of the hair pulling things he does.

I don't think he sucks. He's just not a starter on a contender. Which we aren't close to being right now.

Aminu is our best defensive match vs Durant, and probably Klay Thompson as well. His job in this series will just be defense. He's not a bad player, he just needs to know his limitations.

I'd probably keep Harkless, but I don't get to watch the games.

I guess....if an average NBA player can't dribble at all and is just as likely to shoot an air-ball as hit the rim or actually make a bucket. There are some things he can do and when he occasionally can hit a shot it certainly helps the team. But to rely on Aminu having to score is a recipe for failure.

Defending Durant isn't important at all to people in this thread apparently.

    LOL! Aminu can't defend Durant.

Apparently it wasn't important to Aminu either?

Aminu has the length to play PF. As a PF, he does have a decent enough 3pt shot to be an effective stretch 4. He's probably the best defender on the team and can guard at least 3 positions.

For what we pay him, he's a bargain and absolutely worth a roster spot. A lot of other teams would love to have him.

That said, Stotts didn't start him against the Warriors. He's clearly been in a slump lately. He played several minutes less than his season average. Stotts isn't going to insist on playing him if he's not doing well.

Evan Turner beat him out for the starting job in the playoffs. I'm perfectly fine with Turner starting - I thought that he would be the starter when we got him.
