Stealing this from the Raptors section, as there isn't really much to talk about aside from losing at this point...1. Paul Pierce: Don't need an explanation.2. Rajon Rondo: I LOVE Rajon. I love how he runs the floor, I love his energy, I love his defense. Though his game is pretty unpolished right now, I love it all. If he can develop a jumper he can be an extremely valuable asset to the Celtics in the future.3. Big Al: He's starting to turn into the big man we always hoped he would be. Since coming in in December I think it was, he's been lights out and a sure fire double double nearly every night. 4. Delonte West: Hardworker, with a lighter, funnier side to him. He has a great character and charisma, and is a very good kid. Not the greatest point guard, but has a pretty good BBall IQ, and knows what he's doing. Hasn't looked amazing at the point, but I love the way the kid comes in and works his ass off night in and night out. 5 (tie). Brian Scalabrine: How can you not like Scal? Sure he's absolutely terrible, but he's good for a nice jump shot every now and then. He sucks, but he plays his ass off on both ends, and ends up playing some pretty good defense too. He hasn't complained one bit about all of the criticism he's gotten and he's just played his heart out. I respect the guy.5 (tie). Ryan Gomes: Three words- Solid, Hard Working. That's the best way to describe Gomes. He works his ass off, proved all the doubters wrong, and has become a very solid NBA player, and will be a good role player off the bench for the Celtics in the future.

Before I do this, I just want to say that it's very hard to do this. There are guys that I will leave out that I really want to add to the list, but I just can't. [IMG] Here goes:

    1. Paul Pierce
I explained this plenty in the topic in the General NBA section about why we like our favorite players so much.

    2. Al Jefferson
Big Al! He has come along so beautifully this year, and I love it! He has overcome all the injury problems, he lost weight, he worked his ass off this past summer, and he has now asserted himself as the 2nd best player on this team. His post game is absolutely phenomenal (and not just for his age, he can score on anybody in the NBA), he's an outstanding rebounder (very good offensive rebounder, by the way), his shot blocking has improved, the post defense still isn't there but it is improving, he is more aggressive now, he attacks the basket more, his passing out of the paint has improved a GREAT deal, he has such a soft touch, and he's just a good kid. I love Big Al, we are lucky to have him. What a steal at 15.

    3. Delonte West
For the same reasons yanks mentioned. The dude is straight up HILARIOUS. Not only is he funny and has a great personality, but he's a true competitor and a gym rat. He's a warrior. He'd play with a broken left arm if Doc said it was ok. He always gives 110% on both ends of the floor, he's an excellent shooter, he's pretty explosive when he wants to be, he's a good rebounding guard, he's a good help defender, he runs hard, he is a pretty smart player, his ballhandling has improved considerably since he came into the NBA, he never complained once about losing his job or his minutes dropping in the beginning of the year, and he is willing to do whatever the coaches/organization asks him to do. If they said "Delonte, play center" he would do it. Go D-West!

    4. Tony Allen
Gotta love TA. It's so sad that he went down with that injury, man, especially with the way he was playing and how much we needed him. But a healthy Tony Allen is a god. [IMG] He does it all. He's an excellent defender (when healthy, our best defender without question), he's an all-out hustler, he makes some plays on both ends that wow you, he's a terrific slasher, he attacks the basket, he's strong as hell, he rebounds, he's our emotional leader, he's funny, he pumps the team up. He just brings a certain level of energy that nobody on this team can match. Got dammit, get well soon, TA!

    5 (tie). Rajon Rondo
Rondo brings a ton of energy. He's a very crafty defender, his basketball IQ is off the charts, he's a very good ballhandler, he's a pass-first hard, he's lightning quick, he's an amazing rebounder for a 6'1'' guard, he's very athletic, he can run an offense, he's a good penetrator with a very nice drive and kick game. He needs to work on his shooting SO BADLY, but the other things he brings to the table is just outstanding.

    5 (tie). Gerald Green
Well first of all, we all know he's a freakish athlete. We know that he has all the raw talent in the world. He hustles. He has a great shooting touch from 10-30 feet, with smooth stroke and an unblockable jumper with the height he gets on it. But what I like about Gerald is his work ethic and the fact that he wants to get better as much as anybody. He knows that he needs to play defense in order to make it, he knows that he has to work year-round, he knows that he needs to do everything the coaches tell him and then some. He does it all, though, he's not just talk. He's going to be a very good offensive player in this league when his career gets underway, and with his work ethic and determination, I so no reason why he shouldn't be a very solid all-around player either.

Sorry, I just can't pick between Gerald and Rondo. I just can't do it.

    1. Gerald Green - reminds me of a young Kobe or Tmac, so much energy2. Paul Pierce - definately the best Celtic by stats and commitment in a long time (possibly since Larry)3. Al Jefferson - this guy is a monstor on the boards and he has it all there defensively and offensively, really broke out well this season and hope he continues to improve over the years.4. Rajon Rondo - the future of all point guards5. Ryan Gomes - tremendous roleplayer/scorer(when needed) that shows so much dedication and proof that Danny can make some good choices when it comes to drafts.

I love players who show improvement and determination and I'm a pretty big Jefferson fan.

    1. Al Jefferson: Beast on the offensive end, great rebounder, and he is still very young.2. Gerald Green: Crazy athletic, comes out with alot of energy, has really progressed this year, and his shot is really picking him.3. Ryan Gomes: He is one of the more solid players on this team. He shoots a very high percentage, he is smart, and he is very reliable.4. Rajon Rondo: Hustle player....He plays his heart out everytime he plays. Once he developes an offensive game, I will like him more. It is just frustrating sometimes...5. Paul Pierce: I couldnt leave Paul off the list. He has been the heart and soul of the team for as long as I can remember. He puts his heart and soul in to the game everytime he steps out on the floor...
