I was surprised to not see any topics on this...<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Team's stand-pat approach doesn't sit well with Garnett. By doing nothing at the NBA trading deadline Thursday, the Timberwolves actually might have done a whole lot of something to alter their team. Kevin Garnett, the Wolves' All-Star forward, made it pretty clear after the shootaround Friday morning that he was not happy with the stand-pat approach. "We made no moves. Typical," Garnett said in a raspy voice, apparently fighting a cold. Asked if he had been hoping for a trade to boost the team's playoff chances, Garnett responded: "We're trying to get better, right? It is what it is." A couple of minutes later, after some comments about Phoenix, he offered a glimpse at how "not happy" he really was. "Thank God for opt-outs," Garnett said as he wrapped up the brief interview. The 7-foot franchise player has an opt-out clause in his contract after the 2007-08 season, before the final year of his current contract.</div> http://www.startribune.com/511/story/1022668.htmlYou can look at this two ways...he could mean thank god for opt outs as in other players opting out to join the Twolves or he wants to opt out after this season. If that were the case the Twolves had better try to trade him before that happens. Discuss.

I think its time for the Twolves to trade him. He's 30 years old and still hasn't won an NBA title for a player who should. Kevin McHale isn't helping out with his chances either. And Long time ago I remember reading an article where he said he didn't want to be part of the rebuilding plan, so I'm guessing he wants to be out unless McHale does something for the team to improve their chances.

KG won't opt out after this season, he's got 46 mil more coming to him over the next two years, which is more money than any player is allowed to make under the new CBA

No way KG decides to leave out that money just to get out of a bad situation. He's not a moron. Wolves hold the key to his destination, which is why he's still a Wolf to this day.

Yeah, I'd say he's just teasing the T-Wolves like he's already done several times throughout the last couple of years so he can get traded possibly before his opt out. The only way he'll leave Minny is if he can keep that contract, so as Rok said the Wolves are basically in control of his future.

I hope we trade him. He deserves a championship, and it sure looks like we can't give it to him soon. Besides, we could probably pull in a young player plus a draft pick, so it would help with the rebuilding plan which is pretty much our only option since we'll be eliminated in the first round of the playoffs this year, we'll only have a mid-round draft pick..Not much to rebuild on unless we trade him

Just because your an elite player and your in your prime, doesn't mean you 'deserve' a title...Maybe if KG would take his team on his back and dominate the 4th quarter, he would have had more playoff success than he's had.

Man, if McHale didnt want so much in return for KG, Id campaign for the Raptors to get him.

He'll kill our cap with that huge contract of his, and I wouldn't like the Raps to give up much. Instead of Bosh demanding the ball and taking over, it will be his idol KG who's going to run the show and I know Bosh wouldn't like some outsider taking his team over.

With him getting older by the day, you kinda wonder when the T'Wolves are gonna do anything besides rely draft picks to give KG a supporting cast.

KG deserves much better than what he has got at the Wolves. He has been a good sport thru all this. I don't know how he has done it for 12 years.

Well they'd probably have a chip by now had the GM job not been so bad. If he REALLY REALLY cared though, he'd opt out and sign min. with the Suns.

"It is what it is"Hmm I remember AI saying that a few times also. lolKG is one of a few I see leaving all that money. I would be surprised if he opted out and even signed for the leage min just to win a title with a good team.haha if he did not care about the money he could sign with Denver on a 1 year thing and win a title easy Camby/KG/Melo/AI DAMN inside scoring and D with KG. He be locked to win. They can creat a dynasty there next 3-4 year before AI retires they can rack them mother f*cking titles up. :HAHAHA: Even Dallas/Suns/Spurs w/e can't stop that.If he only cared about the title do that. HAHA I wish but that be crazy cool.

The wolves have screwed him over year after year by not bothering to put any sort of talent around him save for the 03/04 season where he did lead them to the CFs. Think about it, the two best players that KG has ever played with are Sam Cassell and Tom Gugliotta :no1:

I think it be fitting for them to win it together.Go ahead KG you have enough money opt out and sign with Denver atleast for a year for league min. [IMG]

Damn I am joking cause wh ywould he take that much less money. But it be cool if he actually did take that much less to go win a title with AI. LOL I would be going crazy I would deff be out to Denver from Philly to some games. No joke either I would go out to a few games all the way from Philly.

It wasn't like they were booming with great moves beforehand. Also, this is a spiel about every good player in this league. Like Iverson, Pierce, Kidd, hearing crap that they need to be traded because they deserve a title. Give me a break, all these players can't win a championship at the same time.
