I've always wanted to do this because I've only been to three states, but I'm too much of a pussy to do it on my own.

...I used to live in Key West back in the 70's...it's obviously changed a bit since then but I still go back every so often...very laid back, in fact, the atmosphere is somewhat like the Bahamas...Duval Street is the place to be and do yourself a favor and check out Mel Fisher's museum, you'll be blown away. I vaguely remember him as just a salvage guy back in the day before he found "the mother lode"...pretty incredible story actually. And he never forgot all the people who helped him along the way.
...I still have a "piece of six" necklace to this day around my neck.

bookmarked it. yeah, going on the 4th of july, probably get there mid day and will prob spend the next day and a half just hanging out.

Hemingway's House, the Truman White House, the Mile Marker 0 (gonna rep Lillard gear there) and Duval street are on my list to do. Probably get a few bar T-shirts from Sloppy Joes or some shit like that too.

Went to Key West for the first time last fall. I thought it was awesome. Basically a laid back French Quarter with tropical climate. We did all the stuff you have listed @EL PRESIDENTE . The other thing we did was take a pontoon plane to Tortuga. That was a blast. You can also take a boat. Watch out for chickens.

Yeah, looked at Tortuga but that seems like an all day kinda thing. May not have time.

rode that a few times, they stop at communes and make crazy vegetarian potluck breakfasts and shit, and then you have to do the dishes.

It depends on when and where my wife joins me, but it's looking like the middle third of June. And I appreciate the offer! I'll see what I can do.

The Maine coast is beautiful. If you have the time, the trip out to Acadia National Park is well worth the trip.
