Right now, I'm feelin Phil Jackson. He and Kobe have definitely put everything aside, worked with what they have, and beacise of this the Lakers are not a team that anyone would face in the second round. People said that Phil could only work with a polished team, not a fixer-upper like how the Lakers were.HAHA!!

I have to go with Jerry Sloan. Not many people expected Utah to be this good this season. Some predicted them to win the division, but I don't think they expected it to be this good. Deron Williams has made some remarkable strides this season. Sure, you credit Deron himself for working hard and just being that talented, but Jerry Sloan deserves some credit as well. He didn't just hand him the keys to the car last year and accept mistakes. He taught and taught and taught him, and look at him now. But Jerry Sloan is one of the best coaches of all-time, he's still doing an outstanding job, and I think he deserves the recognition.

I'd say that the only two coaches that are in for consideration are Jerry Sloan and Avery Johnson. Avery's team has only lost 5 games in like thier last 51 or so. The Mavericks record thus far is a record breaking one. They have a top 5 record in history at this point in the season. They've become one of the only 4 teams to have 3 10 game winning streaks in one season. They did this before the All-Star break as well. That is just an incredible feat to acomplish. Right now I'd give the edge to Sloan since his team has improved so much since last season. He's getting his young guys to play the game the right way and has a nice core of veterans that get the job done. It also doesn't hurt that the injury bug hasnt been as big as seasons past have been. What is so horrible is that if Sloan gets it this season, it'll be his first. He's been a great coach for so long and hasnt gotten the credit like he's deserved from some people. Also, I know you said dont pick your team's coach, but I have to since he really is on top of his game and we all know it.

Let's just take that 41-3 record by the Bulls you put there. That's 44 games. In the Mavericks last 44 games they are 39-5.

Definitely Sloan. I never would have thought the Jazz would have been this good. He's done wonders with getting Williams to develop. He's done a great job with the Jazz though. Avery Johnson is another great candidate, but in all honesty, everyone expected the Mavs to be this good.

I've gotta go with Jerry Sloan. Alot of people didn't even pick the Jazz as a playoff team. Now they are a sure 4th seed in the West. That's amazing. I might have gone with the Smitch, but he's a pretty bad coach in my opinion. He's just a good motivator. That's all.

Mike Brown man!! [IMG] LMFAO If someone really said him, I would really die of laughter, haha.My vote goes to Avery Johnson, he once again brings Dallas to the top of the map, and his team has yet to hit 10 losses, and the season only has so many games left. But that will changes Thursday....

Isiah Thomas man it's a lock people why is there even a topic [IMG] ..... :HAHAHA: Nah Jerry Sloan even though for some reason I don't like that guy. Avery Johnson Dallas coach also, and Phil has done a good job with the Lakers.Hard to say since there are a few who should get it.

So far, I will have to go with Sam Mitchell as ?Coach of the Year?. The Raptors have improved dramatically from last season with the Jazz, but the Jazz roster is better then the Raptors. The Raptors also had a roster makeover in the summer, they have nine new players for last season. Five of their eight best players are at least rookies or didn?t play in the NBA last season. They are a young team and they are playing one of the best basketballs in the Association.

I'd have to do with Jerry Sloan as well, a man who was always working hard no matter what his roster looked like.

Re: Who's your coach of the year?

I would probably go with Avery Johnson, he has the best team in the league and has under 10 losses, they have been very consistant, he's still got them playing good defense and they have not slumped off after a great year last year, just an amazing job working with players. Jerry Sloan as always has done a great job and so has Phil Jackson. It's nice seeing some coaches talked about who have turned the teams around a little bit, like with Sam Mitchell but he's not coach of the year. He just has a more mature team with more experience, I don't really think he's doing all that amazing of a job, maybe if they were doing it in a difference conference I would give him more credit. For me it's. 1. Avery Johnson 2. Jerry Sloan

Re: Who's your coach of the year?

I thought I already posted in this..anyways, I have to go with Sam Mitchell...if Toronto can keep playing like they are. Yeah Jerry Sloan is a possibility, but it seems that Utah is better because they have alotve guys stepping up this season. Williams, Boozer and Okur are all having great seasons, and Im not sure if its because of Sloan, but maybe they are just getting better themselves. But you cant go wrong with Sloan or Mitchell.

No one on this team has real experience in the NBA 4+ years. Maybe Rasho Nesteroivc and Darrick Martin, but they dont seem to be leading the team do they.
