This team at the beginning of the season looked like they were going to be in the playoffs this season. They were leading thier division and were I believe in the 3 seed for a long time. I myself predicted that they would indeed make the playoffs, but as of late, they've fallen off on the way side. They are below .500 and are like the 9th seed in the East. Anyone see this coming? Did anyone think this was going to happen? Anyone suprised that they've fallen this far? I for one am suprised that the have fallen. They have some good quality talent and are in the East for crying out loud. I expected a little more than this from them.
I never expected them to amount to anything this year because of the makeup of their team. But I did expect a playoff berth. Young teams tend to drift off as the season goes on and it's just part of the learning process. Plus, Jameer Nelson has had a off year so far, which hurts them. I think they will make the playoffs in the end.
I for one knew that things wouldn't beroses as long the Magic lead the league in turnovers per game, defenses are either adjusting to Dwight Howard, or closing out everybody so he has to do it himself. Injuries haven't helped them either with grant Hill missing some games, and then trevor Ariza out with his knee. The Magic will make the playoffs, but the way that it's being done isn't particularly great to watch.
I don't think it looks too good this season for Orlando - not enough pieces. However, if Orlando makes the right moves in the off-season, they could be championship material right away, simply because you guys have that freak of nature called Dwight Howard. I hear a lot about Billups going to the Bucks, but I think Orlando should attempt to get him as well, and maybe another shooter/scorer type, like Magette.
