Dirty Grandpa is definitely one of the worst movies I've seen in the last 5 years. Low point for Robert De Niro.
The reviews for it are funnier than the movie. Even the critics consensus summary on RT is pretty good: "Like a Werther's Original dropped down a sewer drain, Dirty Grandpa represents the careless fumbling of a classic talent that once brought pleasure to millions."
Learned not to expect anything from movies. More often than not you get disappointed. Moonlight?? Was ok, not amazing. I expected too much. Reviews mean little to me in the end. The Dark Knight got bad reviews here and there. I think Christy Lemire didn't like it. I know if she loves something, I won't and vice versa.
I don't read reviews before seeing a movie unless I don't really want to see the movie. Sometimes reviews make me see a movie I otherwise wouldn't, and the other times they don't really do anything. Hell, I rarely watch trailers anymore. Certainly not for movies I know I want to see. I didn't see a review or trailer or anything really before seeing Moonlight and I absolutely loved it. Hell or High Water is the best movie I've seen from last year though. News came out today that Chris Pine, Ben Foster, and David McKenzie (the director) are teaming up again for a Netflix movie called Outlaw King.
Moonlight sucks. I mean it was ok but so what? If we remake Solaris word for word and scene for scene starring Caitlyn Jenner it will still suck.
What was great about Moonlight? Gay drug dealer? There wasn't any suspense, no twists or turns. Favorite character just dies in the middle of a time jump...Boring.
