I didn't give up. I said it's gonna be tough to come back against a trap team that we've allowed to control play due to playing scared and tentative.

I'll leave it to you guys to get upset. I won't get upset when I watch crap. If this is the best the Rangers can do then I won't invest my energy into it. Outside of 10 minutes in the 2nd period they played like crap.

1st period was due to PP's, but after that it was a joke. Turnovers all over. Couldn't complete a pass. And Hayes, Miller Kreider awful again.

You guys have at it. Won't waste my time getting upset over sh*t tonight. Rangers either play much better or they will lose to a team they are clearly better than in my opinion.

They aren't even going to get a shot off in the last three minutes. Unbelievable

Yes. If they win they most certainly have. If they lose, they still have. We've won games before that the other team has earned. Ottawa made the Rangers play their game so Ottawa has earned the win. Whether they get it or not is something else. Sorry I didn't make that clear.

Be honest Al, can you honestly say that the Rangers have played their game and deserve to win? Or has Ottawa outplayed the Rangers outside of 10 minutes and forced the Rangers to play their slow, methodical style of play? If we would have kept the pedal down, we win easily. Instead we allowed Ottawa to control play because our coaches allowed the team to relax when they were up by ONE goal.

What a shitty loss. McD makes
Poor decision after poor decision with the puck

McDonagh continues to show why he's not an elite dman. Just dosen't make enough plays offensively.

Ottawa 1000% deserved that win. Rangers either play much much better or they will lose. Not complicated tonight. Ottawa is not that great of a team, I have zero doubt we are the better team. We played like a pile of trash tonight and still lost late on a fluky goal.

The way it played out if we won this game no doubt we win the series. Now it is wide open. And if we lose game 2 we are in big trouble as 78% of teams that go up 2-0 in the NHL playoffs win the series.

Raise their game tenfold or go home. Pretty simple.

Incompetence by the forwards. Forwards need to bash fucking Anderson's head into the crossbar and run him over. Enough of this sympathy shit for his wife. Rangers forwards played like pussies in this game.

It was the worst passing I have seen by the Rangers all year. The trap might be frustrating them but not a single forward played well. What a waste of 3 hours watching that crap

You know why they lost because they are coached by that idiot AV. Ottawa won because they threw a lot of pucks on net from every angle. Thats how you score in the playoffs. The rangers all they do is look for an extra pass all game long in the offensive zone.

I figured we'd win in 6, but the lack of emotion by this team, especially the younger guys, is worrying. Kreider, Miller, Stepan, ESPECIALLY Hayes all played like shit. Again. Grabner can't buy a goal despite being set up in great spots. They need to keep the pedal down in game 2 and smother Ottawa with their speed and forechecking ability. The game was there to be won in the first half of the second period by the Rangers but between bad plays and missed chances they allowed Ottawa to hang around, and then once Ottawa got the goal the Rangers totally went into a shell and played nervous and slow.

It's a series. They need to play better and go get the next one.

100% agree Disturbed. Not going to get upset and blame the coach or knock McDonagh. We simply did not deserve to win this game. Didn't play well. No need to get upset. Play better and we'll win game 2. I saw what I thought was the case tonight, we are the better team, but if we play as sloppy and uninspired as we did tonight no doubt Ottawa wins the series.

They need to get their stretch passes working again. They had a few working and when they did it caused Ottawa to loosen up their trap and led to a few better chances. Then we folded. Stupidly.
