An endorsement deal with Nike, Under Armour or Adidas is not in the cards for Lonzo Ball.

Ball's father, LaVar, confirmed that the three shoe and apparel companies informed him they were not interested in completing a deal with his son. Sources with the three companies told ESPN.com that they indeed were moving on.

Stage parents never learn.

Wow. I never really bought in to Lonzo being that great, have him marked down under "bust potential". It's going to be ugly, because usually when players bust (outside of Oden situations, even Anthony Bennett got a bit of a pass) that's it, they are out of the league and nobody wants to talk about them anymore. That isn't going to be the case with Lonzo. His dad has pissed off enough people that if his son doesn't make it in the league he's going to get ripped to shreds by the media and fans. Unfortunate as it's not entirely his fault. Going to be entertaining to watch it play out.

One can only hope Lonzo is the last one sitting in the green room on draft day... Please let the cameras remain focused on his dad!
And a mic in front of Screamin A Smith

This is too funny. When you are dealing with the type of money being offered for #1/#2 picks, you take it. The long-shot potential might be greater with his own brand but once you reach a certain level, the ROI starts to lose it's impact.

Then again, his dad hasn't made sense from day 1.

Throwing Lonzo under the bus for the sake of his other kids?

I know next to nothing about the son - all I've heard about is the father. I pitty the team that has to deal with him!

Big Baller Brand? Yeah, that's gonna succeed! Dumbest brand name EVAR!

The guy is truly delusional. He compares having his own shoe brand (which currently consists of ZERO shoes actually for sale, in spite of the fact he has supposedly been working on the design of Lonzo's shoe "ever since my boys were born") to paradigm changing breakthroughs like Uber and Facebook. Yeah, your shitty shoe with a shitty name is going to be the next Facebook. Please let me get in on that IPO!

Yet still not as dumb as the fact that they charge $50 for a simple t-shirt with their name on it

I wound't wear it if they paid me $50. OK, maybe to change the oil in my car, but not out in public.
