Also, Girardi was covering open ice instead of a man. Wtf. Seriously?

I have hated 90% of what I have seen from this team in these two games. Have to give Ottawa some credit, but the Rangers have played a lot of incompetent hockey in these 6 periods.

This is like the team we saw the last couple of months of the season. Somehow stepped up their play against Montreal. Now back to this nonsense.

Must win OT I think. I felt it was all about today prior to the game, now I feel that doubly after we blew all these two goal leads.

Hank needed to make at least one more big save to win this game. He let up 2 softies today, which happens. But this team just abandoned the gameplan, again, of what worked. They did this shit in game 1, they did it against Montreal. They just can't play aggressive and stay aggressive. They get lazy and lackadaisical and it continues to KILL them. They lack the drive and killer instinct to win.

who is responsible for putting the right players at the end of the games? He did it in montreal game 2 and lost. Now he did not put the right players again.

Jesus Christ...the team had a two goal lead with 3 minutes left...that's the bottom line. Can the players make an f'ing play please instead of always blaming the coaches. AV had only one dman out on the PP.

    Amazing.

They had Mcd, Girardi and their better defensive forwards out there. Not sure who you wanted on the ice. It's the same tune when Stepan is on the ice late.

I don't see a shot they win this series if they lose today, but crazier things have happened I guess.

Are you serious??? As a coach, if you see your players laying back and not pushing it (and you have told them to keep pushing) you are responsible for getting the plan across by reminding them or yelling at them and reigniting the fire under them. Those last 3 minutes all this team did was collapse into the defensive shell that cost them game 2 against Montreal. Good thing AV held that timeout instead of reminding his players to be aggressive.

Would've never predicted a 6-5 final in this one. In Washington tonight yes but not in Ottawa. Some weird bounces and tips in front yes but Lundqvist has been awful today.

The players on the ice were the right ones at the end, but for the last 3 minutes we did NOTHING to control play and allowed Ottawa to take control as we sat in our defensive zone and iced the puck over and over again.

At what point do you as a coach see what is happening with the flow of the game and call a timeout to remind the players what they need to do and give them a mental rest to refocus? AV shoudve called a timeout after the icing because that was the game. If we control the faceoff and don't ice the puck we win. If players were all knowing and didn't need coaches pushing them and gameplanning with them then why do we even have a coach? This is a SHARED blame. You can't let AV off the hook. It's on him AND the players. The players stopped pushing. He didn't reignite the fire under their asses to get them back to being aggressive. Dual blame.
